Description
I wrote this about my friends Eric and Debbie. But mostly for those they loved and who are still with us; Jules, Jade and Nina. I say that they are my friends because you always appreciate someone more after they are gone.

I took one of Eric’s handdrum classes years ago and his influence is felt everyday. Debbie was an excellent photographer and was always glad to see us. I never knew that I would miss them... but I do. Take no one for granted. God Bless!

yo
had a real nice balanced sound, well mixed and put together nicely..i enjoyed listening to this. very eastern. i really wanted that piano to kick though on a more of a high end! that would sound real good.. the bass had a good sound to it... cool track. well developed, nice change ups... were these loops or do u compose this stuff?

thanks for comment
The loops were the drums and violins- I felt bad about doing it this way since I have so much access to live hand drummers... I just didnt have the administrative skillz to pull it off while creating the song... at any rate, The other loops were the Rhodes piano and some of the sound effects. Everything else was on the fly. I actually turned down the piano at the point you were talking about... I thought it covered up some of the other elements- nice suggestion.

Nice Changes
I love songs that don't stay in one place, but are constantly in motion. This song certainly has motion and is a great dedication piece. Thanks for posting your wonderful music. This is good stuff!

Samba Stomp!
Leading into all sorts of goodness. This is a complex piece, everything plays into each other and occasionally takes the stage. I don't know jazz, but I know what I like, and I like this.

shutterbug jitterbug
The photographer reference explains the use of the shutter as percussion. The intro drumming is just divine, and flips on primal dance-synapses in my body. The middle musical section is great fun.

It is a great message to remind us that we each can have significant positive impacts on each other without knowing it... it's a wonderful life, isn't it? :-)

Thank you Andy (and Maureen), for brightening my life, even if from afar.

ttfn,
Drakonis

ah yes, Feter. Nearly always first. This tune was one of my first goes at GB. I was working an A / V event at a doctor show and those can get rather... esoteric, so it was me, a laptop and headphones. My neighbors and friends had just died in a car crash and it helped me deal with the loss. Music has a way of doing that. Eric was a drumming instructor and volunteered all over to promote the concept of community drumming. Eric was the founder of Rhythmweb and was known by drummers all across the world. http://www.rhythmweb.com/

Very different vibe
than I was expecting. Cool transition from a tribal beat to a 70s funky groove. Enjoyable to hear a linear song from time to time. Just enough repetition to keep it coherent. Lots of musical ideas put together here. Interesting and fun sonic journey my man.

thank you ... there are bits and pieces in this song that I use as ideas here and there. A good way to store ideas before time steal them away. Thanks for the comment.
