Bagpipes are for Jim, Thank you
Bagpipes are for Jim, Thank you
Lyrics:
Girl from Texas you've got no soulyou'd rather go out and rock n' roll
I drove you a thousand miles back to Dallas
you took me out to make your ex-boyfriends jealous
and you thought I didn't notice
I need a gas station for the soul
too many broken hearts scattered on the road
the jukebox keeps playing lonely songs
I'll be riding out 'til the break of dawn
Chorus:
I'll rise above this tragedy, I'll set my soul free
and I'll forget those memories, when you were one thousand miles next to me
Verse:
We spent a week and a day alone
we drove to San antone and Mexico
I could see your longing in your waiting eyes
the loneliness in your distant smile
and you thought I didn't notice
I guess you need someone to stir your soul
everyone is afraid to give up control
the radio keeps playing lonely songs
I'll be riding out 'til the break of dawn
I hope you think of me when the sun shines on you
I will try to think of you when the sun shines on me
I hope the sun shines on you...

this is excellent, Tom.
It's been a while and this sure is a excellent song to slide back in.
different style, very soulful and you pulled it off so well.
you sound very relaxed on the vocals.

God how I've missed that voice!!
Great words, T. I can see the pictures.
Big production. The chorus is magnificent, I actually got goosebumps. Very well controlled, moves at a mellow speed and is so captivating.
This is right up there with any of your previous works of art. The piano break is a surprize, really works with your haunting backing vox going on at the same time. Great excitement over here on your return, T.
The break has really been useful (and, hey, you ARE a busy man) and it had sooo paid off; this is strong, engaging and pure TG.
Love it. I don't have to say this, but, DOWNLOADED AND STRAIGHT TO iPOD!!!!
We'll get this one goin' on in the Spotted Pig, yeah?
Great to have something new from you.
A happy boy.
ATB,
Jim

repost this one? i swear that I commented on this the other day. that bagpipe sound(?) haunts me. some other cool little things going on in here too. i dig the song, my only unsolicited complaint would be maybe a little too much reverb on your vox (it's kind of burying them and you have a nice voice that doesn't need to be buried). looks like you're fairly new, and we haven't officially met, so hello friend. see you around.

Mastering is always a struggle for me, any advice is welcome and noted!
thanks for the listen!

We've waited a long time to hear another tune from the artist formerly known as Tom Wounded.
Terrific vocals and lyrics, Tom. The piano parts are a really great break. Those very modern bagpipes are magically delicious. Nice production overall and a pleasure to hear another tune from you.
Kiss that beautiful baby for Uncle Bobby.
Downloaded, fer sure, dude.

This is very cool. Has the laid back, soulful vibe mixed with that haunting pipe sound that just transforms the track into something truly affecting.
