Description:
Bit of a mish mash lyrically. Started off just messing around with fridge magnet poetry then sort of mixed it up with a song about Tony Blair and how the general euphoria when he was elected evaporated when we realised what a corporate, ass licking poodle he really was.
Sort of felt timely to put upload this with Obama getting in.
He may be the leader you dreamt of. Only time will tell.
Hope you like it

Lyrics:
Ruminate, the great debatethe grass in always greener
And on the other side of town
the air is always cleaner.
You think you’ve beat the tyranny
that others set before you
The absence of a love so great
is hope and glory too
Dream ruler takes his place
his mask begins to crumble
and in the corner, cracks appear
becomes a victim of his fear
Does whatever as he pleases
sold us down the river
power hungry, power games
greedy indian giver
He takes and takes more than he needs
then throws it all away
Surrendering assumptions
Enslaves the men in grey
Dream ruler takes his place
his mask begins to crumble
and in the corner cracks appear
becomes a victim of his fear

I really like your singing - your voice is so well suited to the genre.
The backing vox is well placed / well done too.
Guitar playing is neat and sounds really fresh. Lyrics are great - the chorus is particularly catchy. The bass notes at the end come in as a nice surprise to finish up on.
Another fine song from you. Downloaded - thanks for the free music.

Thanks for your kind comments and dropping by.
Was quite pleased with the mix. had to split the opening guitar riff in2 because me fingers wouldn't go fast enough but think it works well being in both the headphones.
cheers Jim

I still feel like I'm lacking a bit in the drum programming department and just stick to what I know and can feel I can do and works with the song.
But was quite pleased with the guitars.
Listening a lot to other people and seeing how they do it.
Thanks for dropping by and glad you liked it
have a good weekend yourself
cheers

excellent vocals and lyrics. How'd you do the backing vox?
kingbee
Thanks for dropping in
Vocals were just recorded in GB with a microphone in my front room
Live performance preset with reverb adjusted slightly.
same with backing vocals but just panned them to the right.
Haven't got much experience with EQ and all that stuff.
Glad you liked it
all the best

Incredible vocals, really fit the song so well. Great lyrics and instrument choices. I love the atmospheric synth stuff swirling throughout the piece. Very well constructed tune, catchy and great guitar work. Cool tune!

Thanks for dropping in.
Was unsure about the synth but think it gave the song a slightly different feel to it.
Glad you liked it

and the music fits right in!
Enjoy the lead with the movement of the guitar chords too.

Great song you've constructed here. Nice sound bed for some outstanding vocals. Your voice has that smokey Ian Astbury vibe to it.
The pic with this tune is awesome! Is that from a movie or something?
kingbee
Another Ian Astbury comparison. I must stop dressin like an indian and hanging out with Billy Duffy ;-)
But seriously. Was a big fan of the Cult, especially when they were southern death cult.
Thanks for dropping in and your very kind comments.
Not sure where the picture came from. I ( ahem) 'borrowed' it from google images.
Thanks for your comments

is a little late. But hopefully you see it. This is a great song. When I hear stuff like this I feel outclassed! Great song, it really rocks, your vox are awesome. Thanks for sharing.
kingbee
better late than never I say ;-)
Outclassed? Never.
I'd love to make stuff like yours that was so raw and exciting.

I liked this song. Good vocal. Instruments are well played and overall production is very good.
Nice going.

Woofer3 wrote a really cool tune about Gordon which struck me in a similar way as your tune here about Blair. Enjoyable to hear one's views with a musical emotion added!
