Description
I've been following, in my own tiny way, the race for the White House in America. Obama won and one of the statements he has made since winning was that America, over the coming years would reduce its dependence on foreign oil and research greener, home-grown methods of power and motive force.
My take on this is the mix here called 'hitching' as it denotes the motorway/freeway of the future, with someone maybe waiting for a lift, and the traffic noises as that person waits.
The piece takes a couple of minutes to 'warm up' hence the fade-in and the end fades away somewhat more quickly.
The piece is around 13 minutes long, so you have been warned. Maybe put the kettle on whilst you listen or look at pictures in a 'Transport of the Future' book or watch 'Tron' with the sound turned down on the movie.
