Description:
It has been through many changes, still not quite right in places. I experimented with a few new ideas here, and still getting to know the Pod xt and trying to get that right sound. Having some tech problems with clipping once again. The Pod tells me it detects clipping but i can not find it on logic, i have not got the kind of equipment that can really tell. So once again if you could listen out for it and hear any would you let me know.
Hardware:
Strat, Yahmaha SG 1000 for all the quiet bits, Pod xt, Mac, only 2 drum loops used.Software:

you are a very kind person
LunaTrick
Very ambitious with a lot of interesting changes - sort of like early Mike Oldfield!
tokai
thanks mate, you write some amazing stuff, great to have a comment from such a talented musician.
Skean
you have produce a pleasing visual combination of ambience sounds.
TX for the journey.. Cheers
tokai
looking at your score as it arrived on my arrange page was like looking at a canvas filled with structured art, i should take a photo of it to show you.
Skean
What do u mean? I feel like an idiot..lol
ktb
all the right shifts here. Lots of subtle twists and then theres the one at :50 = crushing :-) always love the sonic goodness you etch with your guitar. The keys are the perfect delicate contrast to the angst in them guitars.
tokai
hey ho geezer! thank you once again for being here, it is guy's like you who make the process worth while. I reckon dub rock could become a new genre. I could have gone with the start, and carried it on, but i tried something different, i still can not quite get the gist of piecing together all the elements, but i will do. There are more pressing matters, like other tunes i have got to finish. Cheers bro.

I'm always a fan of songs that will go through changes during it's course.
you created an excellent example of structure change and keeping a consistent feel.
excellent job!
tokai
cheers... now i am working on tunes with changes in tempo, thanks to some help from Jonk on a technical front.
MarkHolbrook
I love the guitars and especially the intro!
tokai
yes i liked the intro, but i have another song just like it, so i did not want to push that melody much further. Cheers.

...good 'un!
Typically dark and brooding. As Luna Trick says - very ambitious with the tempo/mood changes. Good range of sounds, and some stellar guitar and bass sounds. Love some of the harmonics you're getting from the guitar - good playing -
Can't hear anything untoward - I think the clip detector lies!

thank you once again for your continued support on my songs, you are always there, heart felt thanks really!
I was reading your home page the other day and thinking how i have been to similar places to you and probably had the same profound effects on me that it did to you. I used my cameras to record them, you wrote songs. This song is definitely inspired by 5 years of visiting very old forests through out the planet.
AcetyleneJukebox
That forest is haunted. I think you have something here. Great mix of rock, reggae and ambient elements. I suppose there could be perhaps tighter shifts between sections of the song but the unexpected turns do give the song plenty of drama.I didnt hear any clipping but if you load the song into Waveburner(Logic Pro/Studio) it can tell you where or if it clips.
tokai
that is very interesting, one of them definitely is, umm perhaps the one i was thinking about when i made the changes.
I love dub and reggae, but brought up on metal.
lengold
lovely Steve, love the sounds you are getting with synths and guitars. Great panning effects, very enjoyable. Can't hear any clipping.
Cheers

It would have been perfect with words. However, I really dug this. Great production. Love the sounds going on here.

Journey's, you hit the nail on the head. Love what you write Tim, i should come to you first to get my track descriptions.
Always a pleasure Tim, if you like em that's all that matters.
TracyVosh
This is cool as shit...loved every second of it, with the tapestry of sounds!!! Really cool.
tokai
i think, maybe we are trying to do similar things. Thank you for the comment.

clipping merely tells you that the pod signal is going out slightly hotter than optimal tone. if in logic, you dont hear the clipping, it is ok, but in a clean tone, for instance, you might experience a touch more dirt in your sound, than if you were to tone your clipping down. i find, in my heavier songs, a little clipping gives me a dirtier, preamp sound, but in my cleaner tones, i make sure i have no clipping out, and get a cleaner recording. the trick is to balance pod output and your interface and get the hottest tone wihtout distorting your recording. from what i hear, you have little to worry about. this is a great recording. loved avery minute of it.

well, you do not know what that means to me, the clarification of the pod xt. I have real problems with a lot of my tracks in this department, so that explanation really helps me out. Cheers Allen, your sound is way out there!

beautiful - beautiful
lots of interesting stuff going on here - not like anything I've heard lately - except maybe bubowsky's new number. You guys would make an interesting pair actually. No clipping on my end - just really great guitars and adventurous composing. Very cool track - you seem to have the pod pretty much under control.
tokai
i listen to that band everyday they got to be rubbing off on me! Cheers Bud, thank you for your support. I wish i had the pod under control, i think it might be the other way around.
davisamerica
just a damn good trip .. great track !

Cool mood. Feels like I'm lost in a forest with the fog coming in, and it's getting dark...

...that's where I was trying to get to... Beautiful journey. A very nice ride, indeed. Nicely composed and just, very well put together, and on all accounts. Didn't catch the clipping. This one is a definite friend of the pod.
Totally diggn' it
Thanks a whole bunch!
