Description:
Tune #27 for International Tune-a-Day Month is a hambo, a Swedish dance tune that has a strong downbeat. Lucia is a festival celebrated in the local Scandinavian community the last Friday in November. I recorded this tune on a birch bark flute that is authentic, but somewhat primitive and untuneable. My daughter is dancing the hambo in the album cover.

the flute's NOT untuneable--just in another temperament! changes the color of the melody to have the different tuning--really LIKE it. gives the melody an elegant dignity
always liked the word "temperament"for a tuning system... the character connotation is so strong

Thank you, Feter and Pease, for listening and commenting on the tune. I like the birch bark flute and the dance but matching the electronic string sound is a challenge. I'm not sure if the different temperament is on purpose or accidental. The flute was made in Finland/Russia at an academy for folk music.

I`d love to find someone who could post how to construct one of these instruments!!
is that a string sample or a digi intsrument?
