Description:
I should have been asleep instead of recording this.I'm sure I've nicked some of the melody from somwhere but can't for the life of me think where. The balance in the mix mite be all to pot tho cos I mixed it in the dead of night.Oh and the picture is 'Night with Her Train of Stars' by Edward Robert Hughes.Regards Richard
Lyrics:
In All Our DaysThere is no confusion - thats my conclusion today
You - you're my religion, you're my reason to stay
And if - if we believe in the things that were sayin we'll do
There - there is no reason we can't be livin - livin the dream
But stupid words I say & stupid things I do
Keep getting in the way
But its just my way of lovin you
You put a gun into my hand and I shoot the howling moon
You think I want to be so free but Ive already fallen
In All Our Days I ( the sun is dancing around the moon )
See only her smile ( the waters flowing down )
I will be there ( whatever happens now )
Holding onto every tiny flower that grows now
These days are of wonder, wondering when I will be set free
High higher than sunlight like birds on the water drifting at sea
But why - why is it so hard - hard to get over the hills we climb
Time never stops runnin, running forever drawing a line
But after all the fears are buried in the sand
You smile at me and take me by the hand
It was only life we gave it all we got and gave it all away
It only made us stronger

Sounds original to me. Tune, vocals and arrangement work well. Since you mentioned the late mixing I listened a couple times: the rhythm guitar sounds scratchy to me, is that intentional or a mix problem? The vocals and other instruments sound great.
Thanks

I can relate to being inspired and wanting to finish a track just as you should be going to bed. This is really well composed and the lyric are very good and well sung. Its quite a summer track esp during these long and cold nights.

the structure is really good and your vocals carry the message through the changes in a seamless flow. Very sophisticated changes this old punker. Well done.

the Gerry Rafferty touch here alright Rich', especially on the vocals (excellent). Love the tune and the lyrics are always good from you. Great arrangement and keyboards too, regards M

I think the instrumentation is great. The panning guitar is a bit hot in the phones, but this is just a mixing issue. The song is great, and that's the main thing. Good to see new music from you. Forget sleep; make more music! Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

Triffic production Richard. Perhaps you got parts of the melody from your equally fab effort 'Unfaithful Hound'. Anyway good to see you're still 'at it' as it were. How's the Lake District - still a hub of non-stop fun? I fucking bet it is.

Velvet smooth vox and silky harmonies. The organ follows suit, and the distorted guitar offers a great counterpoint to the mellow-factor. Great chord progression. D/L as usual! I've got enough Richard stuff on my iPod for a double album now!

there's a reason I love your stuff. Damned if it's important, I really don't think it is. What's important is how it makes me smile and relate!
Your pal Rich.

Love the overall sound and feel of this. The lyrics work really well and you vocal fit the mood and message of the song perfectly. I like the call/response on the chorus as well.

This is big. Has a big sound building here.
An 80's feel with a modern twist.
I like the backing vocals too. Whenever i try a higher pitched backing vocal it just makes laugh. Yours work though... Very cool

Been a way a while, but I wanted to check up on your stuff and what can I say. Your music just makes me feel . . . well HAPPY! It is a rare gift (I'll never forget my feelings when I first heard "On This Bright Morning"). Many are musicians and many write songs and many sing, but few can bring out such an emotional response.
Thanks for being you and for your great music,
Stephen
