Description
I love the folk tradition. Songs, music, stories, jokes are passed around, altering a little perhaps from one person to another, and developing into new forms. It's already happening with this song.

On one of my first folk club evenings in 1964 someone sang John The Revelator. I remembered the chorus but I don't think the version I heard had any verses, so years later I put some of my own words together, from a well-known source(!) to tell the story.

Glad you like it! I often double-track vocals but this was the first time I used GarageBand loops.

Awsome
Ken, I must have played this 10 times on my ipod already. Love the way you keep it stripped down with only the vocals and an enthusiastic drum track. Perfect! Dare I say that I detect a twinge of a young Elvis in your voice on this track. May it's the vibrato? Anyway, I'll be humming this one for weeks at least!

You're very perceptive, Jim! Go to 'Mama Don't Allow' to find out how accurate you are!
I love singing (and acting) with different voices. I didn't mean it sound like anyone in particular this time, but I had to have a different timbre in the chorus so the lead vocal and harmony voices didn't sound too similar.
I'm really glad you like the song!
