Description
When I first went to folk clubs, in the mid-sixties, a popular way of ending the evening was to sing Mama Don't Allow and include different instrumental breaks from all the players. It's a good way of making a song with only one verse last 3 minutes -unless everyone has the same instrument of course!
I've taught guitar to children who didn't really fancy learning guitar at all so to encourage and entertain them I recorded a double album of 40 songs kids might like (miming to?). This track, with plenty of the vocal interruptions I enjoy, doesn't require anyone to play anything and was one of the most frequently requested songs. I have to admit I didn't notice any improvement in their playing but they smiled a lot.
