Description
I first recorded this as an acapella version for Christmas 2006. Since I've now turned pretty much instrumental since then, I thought I'd post this - my latest instrumental version of it. This song is also known as 'Gabriel's Message', and is one of my favourite carols since I discovered it in 2006.

Usual culprits - MagicScore 5, Magicx Music Maker and EWQLSO.

And the image is very old - that was done with Daz Studio.

Lovely
Both the sounds and music. I like the fact that you have mixed traditional (church organ) with some modern synth sounds. It works really well. Very nice.

very nice
I enjoyed the idea of playing the section with different sets of voices (strings, then organ, then choir, etc.) Nice way to extend it. The strings/horns in the beginning (1:03) had a little bit of a crescendo attack on every note, that made them sound a little synthetic, but other than that, the whole thing sounded super, very nice mixing and arranging. And a pretty carol too!

The Angel Gabriel
Just wonderful ..is there any chance to know who composed
it ?? ..incredible arangement for this carol ..brought
how far you reached with orchestration to the old school
Kudos ...thnx alot for sharin such gem

Thanks, Feter!
Thanks, Feter! It was originally a Basque carol, and I don;t think anyone knows who was the original composer, now. But the Rev. Sabine Baring-Gould is most often accredited with translating the original Basque lyrics to English.

Great choice
Great choice of carols:) I like the second 'verse' of this particular arrangement the best. The organ is cool, but a bit 'bigger' than I think of this carol.

I like your album art, too.

what a joy
nicely done. Really lights up when the organ kicks in. Might I suggest you consider a mix with your vocal rendition posted back in 06? I listened to that as well and I think the two would marry quite well.

solemn and beautiful
The organs really get a bit scary in the end but you keep the listener with you.
This is a great melody.
Thanks to you !
