Description
I am missing home. So I wrote this. Far Hill is a historical name of the village where I grew up. It is the last and furthest village on the eastern side of Antigua. It is now called Freetown and it is one of the first free villages in Antigua and Barbuda. After the emancipation of slavery in 1834 the newly freed slaves moved away from the plantations and some chose to go as far away from their former lives as was possible. Upon moving to Far Hill they named their settlement Freetown and the village bears that name to this day. The residents are still fiercely independent and I am proud to have come from such a wonderful place. This genre is called Soca and it is one of many that flourish in the Carribean.

This creates images of a little beach restaurant at dusk, with a live band playing, sparkly lights on the eaves, and a warm ambience... gorgeous sunset BTW :-) It's funny but that image was very realistic until the synth solo in the middle hit, and suddenly my mental picture went all impressionistic on me, very cool effect. I hope you can make "home" where you are this holiday season, and enjoy life. I'm certainly enjoying your music.
