There’s no joy up at the North Pole
Where Santa is this year
There’s just no work for all his Elves
I heard he’s laying off some reindeer
With the economy in recession
Bush has finally broke the bank
Raising oil prices to fight a senseless war
We got nothing left for our gas tanks

So say goodbye to Christmas shopping
Adios to Holiday cheer
Santa’s just too busted broke to make it to your Town this year

It don’t make much difference
If you’re naughty or you’re nice
Cause you’re not making Santa’s list
I checked it once, and twice, no dice
The only list I saw your name on
Had no video games or GI Joes
Just a foreclosure on your mortgage
While your investments hit all-time lows
