Def produce it...
Def. hear the uncle tupelo...a Farrar tune, not Tweedy. I can hear the Jay Farrar comparison in your voice, lyrics, and phrasing. Which isn't to say that its derivitive - especially the second half, when you seem to be more relaxed and not trying for a specific sound...I think this would make a great tune. You should def. produce it - i'd like to hear the final version!
