Description:
This is the acoustic demo of my last post I did in 2003 or 2004. I just wanted to give you all an idea on how I work. I usually do a version like this for all my songs.

well written song...
like the alternating arpeggiated chords with punchy strumming.
ending is perfect.

Thanks for the kind words. Come back anytime.

This is great. Not that the other one isn't good, but I like this one much more. I think more of the song is tranlated.
lavalamp
I always dug those Lennon demos I have heard threw the years. That's why I put this up. Love hearing songs evolve. e.g., Strawberry Fields Forever.
Thanks

Dave this is awesome. I love organic stuff like this, just you and your guitar. Very cool. Catchy tune. Love this!
lavalamp
I have never really posted one so stripped down. Glad you liked it.

Dave,
Great stuff here. I enjoyed the guitar a lot. I think the song overall was well structured. Great Job. Thx.
lavalamp
Pleased that you were pleased.

I'd like this song more if you took that effect off your voice. That was distracting me. Feel the piece and just sing it the way you feel it and leave your vocals alone. That's my taste anyway. Thanks for sharing this.
lavalamp
I had nothing to do with the recording. It was down by a buddy of mine. In his defense, I could have been shy about my voice. Maybe, I told him to put something on it. I just don't remember.
I can see what you mean. Check out the final version. This WAS just a demo, never meant to be really heard anyway.
Thanks,
Dave

Should have read the info, doh! I'll be checking out more of your stuff.

... one thing I always like is to hear how other people's creative process.
I work in a totally different process. so, it's great for you to give me the opportunity to hear this and the other final version.
lavalamp
...write? I always write with just a guitar or piano. Then it's off to GB. I listen to the demo a bunch of times before, then think about instrumentation a beats while listen.
Sometimes, it goes horribly wrong. And sometimes, well.

this version a bunch. that's cool you do a pre production version of your songs. i should do that (or at least finish the song before i hit record). i may like this version better to tell you the truth, it's so raw. i used to really be into johnny thunders acoustic record, and this has a sound that is reminiscent of it. all about the song, not the trickery. great track.
lavalamp
Don't encourage me to put up more acoustic demos. lol
Yeah, sometimes I like to hear them, too. I always dig listening to Lennon's demos. I thought that that's how everybody writes.
Thanks, Dave

like that guitar part nice picking. it's always nice to get a raw demo i often will record a jam of songs minutes after i write the words to get a true emotion into the recording while it feels real
lavalamp
Appreciate it, Thanks for taking a listen.

Dave,
There's just something really awesome about this stripped bare version of your song. I too think it might be my preferred version - you and that guitar.
Thanks for sharing it at this stage of it's development. It's better than any of your euro dance tracks!!
Bob
lavalamp
I have 100 of these. No kidding. But, I only have 2 Euro Dances.
When I come to America with my Eruos I'm gonna' be RICH. Ha

you're not alone. i prefer this version too. i think it carries the heart of the song. and the guitar playing, which is beautiful, gets its due attention.
lavalamp
Twangy guitar and all? Cool.
