Lyrics:
The One I Like(c) 2008 Curtis Downey
Verse 1
I kinda like the way you walk
and I love to watch you glide
I really like to hear you talk
and I can feel your thoughts inside
Pre-chorus
Some things about you take me higher
other things just fill me up with fire
Chorus
Fast talkin', slow walkin'
easy on the eyes
hot and heavy, gettin' sweaty
she's the one I like
Verse 2
I can't forget the way you shake
when you start to overload
you make me loose each breath I take
when you take off all your clothes
Pre-chorus
Some things about you take me higher
other things just fill me up with fire
Chorus
Fast talkin', slow walkin'
easy on the eyes
hot and heavy, gettin' sweaty
she's the one I like
Bridge
When she walks in everything else dissapears
Nothing seems to matter, everything is so clear
She's the one I like
Pre-chorus
Some things about you take me higher
other things just fill me up with fire
Chorus
Fast talkin', slow walkin'
easy on the eyes
hot and heavy, gettin' sweaty
she's the one I like
(SOLO)
Pre-chorus
Some things about you take me higher
other things just fill me up with fire
Chorus
Fast talkin', slow walkin'
easy on the eyes
hot and heavy, gettin' sweaty
she's the one I like
She's the one I like

I found this one after reading your reply to my post. I can see you really know what you're talking about. The instruments are well placed in the mix and sound tight.
Good classic rock song.
Studioplayer
Thanks bro. Just keep playing around and think about your mix.

Guy
( Is that your tele? )
Studioplayer
Thanks Guy, Yep!! That would be my main axe. 60th Anniversary American Tele. Love that guitar !!
EEFliess
the mix is perfect!
good powerful song...
guitar work is very good
the lyrics and vocals are great
just enough of a taste of piano that it's not overpowering the song...
a very good rock tune, my friend!
keep up the great work!
magnatone
wow - welcome to MJ! Great rocker - terrific vocals, instrumentation, mix - the whole kit and kaboodle (?)!
FGarofalo
The production is beautiful on this. I would love to here some girl
backup singers on this one.
Cheers,
Frank.
Studioplayer
Thanks to the above. :-) We were going to do backups but I don't think a woman's voice would work with these words. Kind of from a male perspective. Maybe male backup? It worked pretty good on it's own.

cant you smell that smell yes yes heavy and sweaty a bass that needs a hug... clear as a bell... love the laugh.. fast talkin hot and heavy it sticks to your soul. A great rocker thanks!
Vic Holman
excellent tune. it has a great classic '70's rock groove that's bold and in your face. great perfomance by all.
Moses
many great things about this track. Well done all around, course you probably already know that. Thanks for sharing this fun tune. That laugh in the middle is great. I think female back up vocals could be fine, probably just shouldn't be singing the words. Some nice oohs and ahs could give us a taste of what this lady is like. ROckin tune, thanks!
Feter

Thanks guys. I had a lot fum making this tune. Wouldn't mind doing more like this. Some oohs and aaws would work. There's so many ways you can take a song. There's always things we could different. That's what keeps us writing new stuff. For me it's all practice to get my home recording skills down. Amazing what we can do at home these days. A ton of fun!! :-)
Studioplayer
Now if I could just edit my posts as much as I can edit my music. "I had a lot fum"!! ??? LOL Oh well. Hopefully you get what I mean.
LOL

Would love to hear a power harmony starting with the line: "some things about you take me higher, " and perhaps carry it through the chorus. You've got a great tight sound and great mix, and that lead vocal is killer. It's like Eddie Money meets modern country. Really nice stuff.
Studioplayer
Thanks guys. Yeah, I agree Joe. Some power harmonies could be nice. We discussed it in the process but just never did it for some reason.
Dave
