Description:
This is an old one I trudged up and began working on again and it is still in need of repairs so....I'm looking for feedback, suggestions. I'm not in love with the bass and I think some parts are a little lengthy and could flow into the next section better. Thoughts? Thank you!

Jackknife
Good experiment ...as anm edgy music it need sharp licks ...I think
put an electric guitar here will do a great job ,.. thnx for callin !!!
TracyVosh said 205 days ago (December 11th, 2008)
Thank you
Thanks Feter! I appreciate you giving me this suggestion, I didn't think of adding an electric guitar in there, that could be really cool! I don't think I'm up on the lingo here yet so I'm sorry, but what does "thnx for callin" mean?

dancy-trancy
Hey I like this, its catchy. Put in something that distinguishes different parts of your song, an electric guitar works(but be careful not to take us out of that trance), a synth or some cool vocals I think would do the job. Anyway I like the dance beat with the off key experimental vibe you got going.

Ah yes, the "old" tunes...
Leave this as is... for now. As your looping talent continues to grow, come back to it. I've done that a few times and the difference is (sometimes) night and day. As it is, it's really quite good.

Ahhhhh,
Thanks Doof! You're so right...I've done that too and they usually turn out to be something completely different than the original, which is always either pretty exciting OR, they turn out worse but fun, nonetheless. lol.

agree with Doofy ... let this one set a bit until you know where you want to go with it. As is has a great flow and I personally found it a very cool listen.

In agree-ance
Thank you, I totally appreciate that Davis! Yes, I agree, I'll go back to this one when I'm feeling it, in hopes to create a better "Jackknife" one day.

Another one...
...straight out of your over active imagination!
I agree with others - live with it for a bit and then come back and model it into something a bit more focussed.

Good stuff -
Phil

Jackknife
I like this, it's very simple and pleasant, I like the way it moves. If you don't like the bass, use something that anchors your melody and compliments the flow.

Fun!
Cute little track. Some very different sounds, and all of them relentlessly upbeat. I wouldn't overthink it. I think it's fine as it is.

Sounds good
Sounds pretty good to me. My only comment would be to put in some kind of more mellow bridge somewhere in the middle that gets away from the driving piano sound for a bit. May add a breather to the relentless nature of the song for a moment and create a bit more dynamics in the song. Nice work.

Oh dear, I thought the bass was really nice
Cool interesting track, however the piano does go on a bit, however I do like how you bring in and out different sounds. I would put more synth sounds or high pitched acid, something that follows the piano and also weaves in and out.

Cool!
It's amazing how someone can utilize the very same loops, put together in a totally different way and give birth to a highly textured and well composed work. You have your own style and I find that refreshing! I admire your courage to embark upon something new and very different. Sometimes I fail to post my auditory experiments for fear of no one liking it. But that's the most awesome part of being a MacJammer, for we all experiment. A tight nit community of musical pioneers continually seeking that eternal note! This is the future of music and it dumbfounds me exactly how much raw talent there truly is lurking about the site, waiting for inspiration and also giving it in return. I enjoyed the listen very much. Kudos.

Alvin

Ok, that deserves a double thank you Axgrinder! I'm so, so glad I stumbled upon it 3 months ago, it has really changed my perspective and opened my eyes and ears to so many new possibilities and great people. And, I totally agree, I am awestruck at how much talent and passion that thrives here. This IS a wonderful place...I think I'll kick off my shoes and stay awhile. lol

Nice
I like the dissonant piano. Nice percussion. Good bass also, it's used sparingly but adds a lot when you do use it. Towards the end the piano got a little repetitive. I would try and mix that up some. Other than that well done!
