Description:
This is a very obscure song that the band does. Big John showed it to me many years ago, from a bobby bland album...I have no clue who wrote the song, so download is disabled....
I really just wanted to share a tune from the new cd we have out. Totally recorded in GB with a MacBook...it took about 6 months to make the recordings mix and master them. We are making them available at our shows. If anyone is interested in a copy, I am doing the radiohead thing....drop me a note if you would like a copy (with an address). You will receive a copy in the mail with an addressed return envelope. If you like the CD, send what you think it's worth. If ya hate it, it will make a nifty coaster.
Happy holidays everyone
Scott Bronnes--Vocals
Bryan Bishop--Bass
Fran Bishop--drums

...been busy, have ya? This rocks...but what else is new...
I've always loved Bobby Bland...
I've said it before...but will again: the solos and fills are always great...but your rhythm playing just shines...always in the pocket and imaginative...
Nice job again, guys! Kudos...
ziti
you have been a great support for me and it is much appreciated

...although God knows that back in those days who got credit mightn't have been who wrote it...
I first heard if in the Eighties from the folk-rock duo Gregson and Collister, who used to be part of the Richard Thompson Band...
I'll have t' annoy you and say that I could stand to hear a bit more guitar in the mix on this, at least over speakers. And despite my considerable respect for the capabilities of the Pipetones, I've gotta admit that I'm in it for the guitar...
The Pipetones. And now that the core band is in place, will there by three girls doing harmonies, called The Pipettes?
I'm already imagining the stage costumes...

blue bland album that we culled it from...but i dont know the name of the album...
i like the pipettes....a lot...i will steal it
you're the best, ed

...are one.
Love your playing, as usual, and I love the band. Scott is great, like he always is.
Some day I'll get to play with these bad boys, and I will be in ecstasy...
ziti
in ecstasy at rehearsals, as well as gigs. As a band we a growing every time we play, and we are all feeling it. Even when I have an off night, these guys pull me thru in style...and if I can connect, we are in bliss...so far so good with this band...we all are stone broke...but gigs seem to be coming more and more and audience response is very positive. We figure if our bodies can hold up we would be able to play 3 times a week...which would be a nice bit of money....enough for us to feel like it's worth the effort we are putting in. Some must think us crazy...four old guys with no money, jumping around and laughing....ah well
patrick, i dont know what i would do without your support and friendship thru the tough times...thanks

I have more Ziti, fran Dagostino, Ziti and the Pipetones on my ipod than I can count...
Fran- this is terrific... the band sounds tight as ever and like I've mentioned I'd trade voices with Scott in a heartbeat.
You guys have tremendous heart and an unlimited amount of soul...it comes through in your live shows and as you prove here- it comes through as recorded media just fine.

Great vocals and great guitar. Glad I checked this one out.
The Drums/bass combo recorded nicely, catching that old soul sound of the 70's.
ziti
i love the old soul stuff....man...we have a backlog of stuff we just *know*....wilson pickett, motown stuff, james brown...it's always so fun to play...and fun for people to dance to and sing along.
this song is pretty obscure....it was funny cuz my old mentor Big John taught me the song, and we recorded it...i need to see if i can find HIS version...but i never heard the original. When I showed this band the tune and we wanted to learn it, I found it on iTunes and downloaded it....I was surprised how much john had changed it. It is one of my favorite songs to play live.
thanks for the positive comments!!!

ahh, i like how this comes across. a great sound that relives what was cool about the '70's. What really catches me is the Robin Trower flavor on this... or is it just me.
ziti
thanks for the kindness
if it sounds like robin trower that's something! I can honestly say I have never listened to him at all, so it was not intentional, thats for sure. I am glad you enjoyed and thanks for the kindness!!!!!

This has a great groove, and the performances are, as always, outstanding. Good groove, and lovely vocal performance, with some magnificent guitar work. Nice song, and terrific performance. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

.. what I imagine Hendrix with the Isley Brothers might have sounded like.

When I heard this at your last gig I was blown away.
I went home and figured it out and was amazed at home simplistic yet beautiful it is.
As usual song and the tone and what you and the band bring to it blows my mind.
Thank you for recording it
All the best

I love the tone.
This is one of my favorites you really know how to do a cover

Terrific, I have seen BBB many times but don't recall this one. Single coil pups and treble bite/howl might have been a more expressive way to go, but you nailed the phaser/flanger vibe. Did ya nitpick the regenerations?
