Impressive
and written with corned beef too! Massive sound, with a rich production. Your guitar playing is sweet and reaches all the parts other don't. Interesting time signatures and progression makes for a great listen. What you using to get that big guitar sound?

Tokai, hey.
Yes, corned beef sandwiches provide all the essential nutrients for restoring lost hearing capacity. Big guitar sound? My secret is ... ready? ... crank it up. Thanks for your comment on the production. I tend to spend too much time mucking around with that rather than composing good music. But it was postable I guess. Just a few ideas.

So, new identities all around?
Yes, I now have a split musical personality. Reggie is my obnoxious electric guitar guy. My sensitive ambient persona will appear soon. Actually, I'm flattered that you recognized me. Made my day. Thanks!

Nice one
This is very cool. The mix is great, and I really like the bass and drums - great driving playing that just propels this along. The guitar sounds good, and the playing is great. Some really dark, intriguing melodies in there. Very cool. Peace.

Glad you liked the mix.
I thought I might have poured it on a bit thick. I really appreciate that you gave this a listen, dajama.

VERY strong!
love the interplay between the percussion and the synth...the guitar work is very haunting....and everything goes good with corned beef!

keep up the good work!!!

EE.
Hey, I'm glad you liked the messing around with the drums. I could goof off with that kind of thing all day, and it's easy for me to get carried away. My favorite drummer is Bill Bruford, and he's the master at sounding like he's gone off time, only to come in strong at the right place again and bring it all together. Course, I wish I were as clever as Bruford. Sigh... Thanks much.

Sweet!
I really like how you combine all of the different elements together. I like "Faith No More", and I really get that vibe when I listen to this.

For just a few ideas, it really rocks!!

Where do you get your corned beef? I need to get some shipped to me!

Thanks for sharing and the download.

PickQuick.
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I bow before your fretboard burning. Corned beef... yes ... Harris Ranch, on Hwy 5 about halfway between SF and LA in California. A little pricey, but always worth it.

I was just listening and commenting on your most excellent tune "The Wind." Quite a coincidence. Thanks for listening. Glad you liked it.

Holy Moley!
This should be the closing credits to some movie. It moves! How do you do your stuff? You play a hot guitar (and bass?), do you do the drums on a drum machine? With a sequencer? (I lost track of Bruford in the early King Crimson days, he's great!) Other sounds are keyboard MIDI synth?
This is a solid theme that held me all the way through. I agree with Feter though, that the intro almost had me thinking " . . . oh yeah, another one of those techno ditties" and then we went OVER THE FAL-L-L-L-S-S-S . . . !!!
Great stuff,
Stephen

No real bass yet.
I'm learning to play (he said optimistically). My biggest battle soundwise has been getting a decent bass sound. Drums are penciled in using Addictive Drums as a plugin on a midi track. Everything else (besides guitar) is the Zebra 2 softsynth. Thanks very much for listening and commenting.

Nice BIG sound!
Have you escaped from a hair band? Nice combination of intelligent music making and crazy-assed sound. Pass the corned beef. You know what tastes good with that? Kimmelweck buns and horseradish mustard, both from Buffalo N.Y. Thanks. What a trip!

Nice change.
Yes, exactly. And I use ambient to wash all the electric noise out of my head. Works for me, although it certainly does not guarantee quality music. Still looking for the secret to that. Would you like to share?

Oh, you know, the usual thing. Boy meets guitar. Boy falls in love with guitar. Familiarity and contempt set in. Boy leaves guitar. New guitar comes into boy's life. The cycle continues. Sigh ... ah, love. A young and devastatingly charm... [see more]
