Feter
this is interestin to know that you didnt use any loops !!
good work ...thnx for sharin !
PrototypeEightyOne
yea thanks for the words feter, i sequenced/played everything on this one.
Kicbal
Cool kind of methodical marching feel. Sounds like something for some mystery/drama. Would be cool to hear some kind of string or synth pad way in the background to add some more depth in parts. Nice stuff and very nice production.
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks for the input kicbal, i think an underlying string would tighten it up for sure. im going to be working on this, when i get time. funny cuz no joke i was about to name it "March of the sand people". I caught this strange foriegn desert rpg vibe off of it.
ElPeruano
i look the contrast between the clunky piano and the synthy guitar sounds. this one also has a video game RPG feel lol. maybe im just a nerd too. but i hear it. keep it up man. youve got a great ear for combining sounds.
(this is a boss fight track.)
peace.

funny i was just having the same conversation with tracy vosh about my rpg influence. its totally a dark epic boss battle from something like secret of evermore or chrono trigger lol. thanks for the listen and comment. appreciate it.
magnatone
sounding really good proto - very interesting sounds. I like what the guitar is doing in here. It does have a "march" feel, you could intersperse some faster notes to break that up, unless it's what you're going for. Nice work!
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks fot the listen magna i appreciate the words and suggestion as always
damiengh
Nice mood creation here. Could work well with a suspense scene in a spy flick, where time is critical and disasterous if not done correctly. You should expand on this.
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks damien appreciate the listen and the comment, will be expanding on this and adding sections.
TracyVosh
"Deception" is absolutely compelling P! I am so in love with it...but make it much longer. I could listen to this one for hours!
PrototypeEightyOne
as always, thanks tracy!
estellie
the dissonance is yum!
i like the combo of organic sounding piano with video game-ish synth sounds. this has more depth than the video games i remember though, not to knock video game songs; some of them are genius, really.
anyway, i can hear this is a smart, arty animated short film.
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks estellie, i appreciate you taking the time to check it out and comment. Your right, there are some phenominal RPG music scores out there..Even some of the ones on super nes and n64 had some memorable scores/scenes.
HenriROGERsoloandbands
Very cool ideas .
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks for the listen henri, comment, and the add henri..appreciate it
kassia
this is very cool. love that deep bass beat going throughout, kept it moving and grounded it all really well. love the harpsichordish thingy and especially the dissonance in the chords it's playing. very cool when you drop everything out for a bit in the middle. cool mixture of sounds and textures. ending seemed way too abrupt, like the song just got cut off. man, make it longer and give it an ending - this is awesome!
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks kassia i really appreciate the detailed response..Its a work in progress so the ending is non existant at this point, but i had to post what i have on this so far..Its taken awhile just to get to this point :P Hopefully I can add some more sections, extend it, give it a proper ending and post it up soon! Thanks again
Skean
I like what you have come up with here, so far cool work.
And now you have to fix a better ending as maybe something more in it too.
Nice work I like it.. Cheers
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks skean i appreciate the listen and comment, but yea theres no ending atm..its a work in progress.
davisamerica
.... cool
PrototypeEightyOne
thanks for taking the time to listen davis, appreciate it

Nice... I like the funky off-beat feel of this, and the odd chords, it has almost an industrial feel, but without the mind-numbing gritty percussion, this is cleaner. Yah, this could go far... you need to have to have a section of this sound different, by either stripping things down to just a couple of instruments (percussion and one bass-line), or build up instead to have lots of wacky sounds all at once for a bit, then settle back to this funkywalk bit... then you need to write an ending. Maybe just a few places in the piece (not very often) you can add some weird sound effect, like a little synth arpeggio, or a super-reverby laser-shot (soft background sound)... This is well worth working on!
ttfn,

PrototypeEightyOne
nice im glad you checked it out and enjoyed this Drak, appreciate the input and encouragement to take it further as well..really. it didnt even occur to me until you mentioned it but it does have somwhat of an industrial feel minus the perc of course. Thanks again for the detailed feedback Drak, and have a great christmas!

So how are you doing these pieces, through a synth? I have Garitan Personal Orchestra and it would be great to collaborate on a piece. I could add orchestral backing to one of your Synth themes. Maybe something short at first to see what happens. Then if that works OK we could try a longer piece. Do you have MIDI files for your stuff?
PrototypeEightyOne
sure do. its all midi/sequenced. yea im always down for mixing up genres and experimenting, lets try something out.
ive never collaborated on music before only with lyricists who add vocals. So it will be a good learning experience for me, lets start on something short for now. i'll message you.
PrototypeEightyOne
and ive always been a fan of orchestral but i dont have orchestral packs or samples of any sort.
Char
and there was a lot of walking/marching from one kill to the next. So, I can see why folks were saying this was like the background music to a game. But, you put more importance in this piece and I see it as searching for a prize which might inspire you to write a glorious ending to this walk about. Thanks.
PrototypeEightyOne
wow thanks for the post char. Video games, RPGs primarily, were an inspiration to me growing up and had a huge hand in my creativeness. I do intend to go back to this one and give it the proper attention it deserves and yea, give it an actual ending instead of just cutting it.
