Description:
Just got Logic Pro and wanted to see what it offers.
I don't do a lot of rock stuff but one chord seemed to write itself into a song.
Lyrics and Vocals coming soon... maybe.

...doesn't THAT just jump on out of the speakers...TWICE, really...
Really great to hear from you again, soulmonk... Not what I expected from memory, but I really like this... Like the arpeggiated clean guitar figure against the bass line, and then the really ripping riff is terrific...
This thing is going to end up quite something...

I'm not sure where I'm going with this... but we'll see. thanx for your continued support.
More stuff will be on it's way.

Nice headbanging stuff, sounding so sweet with the headphones.
If this is just a test, you've just taken the chains off, and into the skies you go, energy released and moving fast.
Look out folks, this dude is coming out of launch pad with no mercy. Wait till he gets a real handle on this ride. You can tell, logic will be in good hands.

This is my first time with logic. There's gonna be a nice long learning curve with this I think. I've been using Ableton for the past year and Cubase for years before that. This is a tad different. I'll come up with something cooler when I know how to use this thing.

Sigh......you are SO good! I can't imagine what we'll be hearing from you when you have more than an hour's worth of experience with Logic! Very cool sounds, infectious beat - GREAT work!

What amazing talent you have with the guitars.
And your title is TOO CLEVER...

It's really not what I normally do. I write when the mood strikes... sometimes it strikes hard. Usually, I tend to like the moodier side of music...
I just installed Logic a couple of days ago... Then... while fooling around on the guitar, I hit a chord and thought... I bet that would sound cool distorted... Maybe I'll check out the logic amp modeler... the rest is just patchwork. When I started a new file... it was named Testing Logic.
That's where Soulmonk came from. I did a song sampling Soul Coughing and Tibetan Monk... once again file was entitled Soulmonk.
Thanks for listening

Love all the elements in this track. I don't normally step out of my comfort zone but I thought I would chance it and am so glad I did. Love the bass esp on this track, the guitars are very powerful (good headbanging) and love the efx you put on the guitars at different stages. Very well composed and beats the rock out there at the moment. Nice one.

for stepping out. Honestly... It's rare that I write stuff this heavy. Not that I don't like it... because I do... But, I tend to write more on the keys... which leans a little to the down-tempo, jazzy, and the funky side of music. I play guitar for a living so... when I'm home, I don't reach for it as much. But, occasionally when I do... fun things come out. I do not discriminate against inspiration. If it tells me... "Monk, go heavy!" I do what it says. Who knows when it'll come around again.

a lil different from the SM I've come to love. But this sooo appeals to my heavy yearnings. Nice change ups, solid mix and ever groovy feel.
soulmonk
Yeah... it's a bit different. I have a couple of songs in queue. The next one is going to be acoustic/folk. After that back to my MO.
Glad you're still around.

got it ... u have evidently nothing to fear

Logic is still scaring the shyte out of me. I'm running an old Power Mac G5 1.8g... So I'm just looking for a DAW that isn't going to beat up my CPU. Nothing worse that being 3/4 through a song and finding out your Mac is TAXED!!!
I'll keep looking.
egobandit
I love when that happens! smokin when the heavy part comes in about 2;14 it just burns up the computer! damn dude!!!!!!

I think I have a headache from bangin my head too hard! Great guitar licks and recording.
