Description
This is my band's singer, Rob's christmas song with a twist. Tom, the band's guitarist played all the guitars and recorded the vocal sessions. The rest was done in my bedroom studio where I played in some bass and some organ and strings and programmed the drums. All mixed in my little studio, mastered at work using SADiE 5 with a TC Electronic processor for EQ and compression. Everything is not well in toy town.... Enjoy!

Powerful stuff
Great idea with fantastic vocals from Rob- could hear some folky influences in the vocals: like a higher register Ian A. (Jethro Tull) and English folk/pop/rock like Steeleye Span .. and some Levellers too .. could be
accent only and maybe not ..

Really great powerful guitar chords too, nicely mixed by Tom.. how does Tom/you find POD Farm to use?

Overall mix sounded very good.

Don't mean to sound 'elfish with a nit, but I wasn't keen on the chipmunks .. there might be some other way to sound like one of Santa's helpers.

Loved the lyrics.

excellent
Great music writing, great playing and singing, great mixing and production. Only 2 suggestions would be that the last stanza of singing was a little soft against the music, maybe boost the vox a bit there, and the "elf voice" was a little bit cheesy sounding and detracted a bit, maybe use a child or girl voice there, because this song deserves to be polished, and it is really close to perfect! Nice stuff!

wow
Quite a lot off comments about the cheesy chipmunk voices I see! This song was only ever supposed to be a bit of fun, mainly just to enjoy the process of writing a producing it rather than using the song for anything else. I do agree about the chipmunk voice and stuff though, it may be worth going back this track and fine tuning it for next year! Or maybe we'll just make a new one!
