LOL - could you BE more creative? this is great! (love the cover art too!)
SmokeyVW
it's a little funny and a little serious
that pic was found by searching google images for denial - it took a long while to find it
thank you
Doadars Uncle
This is a real groove!
SmokeyVW

what some people get up to in their spare time LOL..... turns out to be very, very entertaining LOL. Great sounds and wonderful arrangement of them, Cheers M
SmokeyVW
just another mostly impulsive little project. i wish i knew where they came from.
thanks

...that doesn't call forth composition from you, Bill?
Hmmm. That could almost be a joke... "That Bill and his music...just a passing phrase..."
And then THAT'LL probably end up as a title...
Dang, you sound like you're having fun, though. Hope it's true...
Ed
SmokeyVW
inspiration is all around us. at least, that is my belief.
yes, i'm having fun, but this tune is also a nod at the growing information overflow we are exposed to, and the desire to simply shut it all out once in a while and simply say "i don't want to hear about it".
thanks Ed

it's like Cartman, Jim Carrey, and Ted Cassidy (Lurch from the original Addams Family) were studying Hebrew and got stuck in a Cuisinart!!!!
I love this, it's like so totally random!!!!!
SmokeyVW
it's more "fun with the vocal transformer"
but it's more like a Waring
thank you
Rocha Malhada
this is pleasantly NutZ. Like a sound byte countermeasure to unwanted incoming strafe.

this is your brain on Garageband? :-) So let me get this straight... the only way you can get these voices out of your head... is to share them with us, aye? Oh great... now these wacky voices will be with me for days... sounds like the the music that was performed at the Mos Isley Cantina in Star Wars, later that evening. Awesome little bass riff, simple and addictive. Love it... in a demented sort of way. :-)
ttfn,
Drakonis
SmokeyVW
actually, no voices in my head this time, just playing around. but some earlier songs dealt with a similar theme http://www.macjams.com/song/29157 - maybe i'm starting to repeat myself?
thanks

If you get the BBC (?) show "Night Garden", you'll hear similar vocal lines Bill. I really liked this - its creative and it rocks along. The build is excellent.
"Just a passing phrase" - I use phrases I hear a lot in starting out a set of lyrics. Can't do better really.
Love this Bill.
Neil
SmokeyVW
thanks Neil -- i never heard of Night Garden, something to pursue
passing phrases reflect reality oftentimes

This track has a lot of energy, but it's a nervous kind of energy. Great driving bass, and a winning concept.
Victor.
SmokeyVW
modern man is trying to deal with vast amounts of input with brains that evolution hasn't had the time to optimize for. makes me nervous too!
thanks

struggle to write comments to your music because it's all so original but you Don't Wanna Hear About It.
Cheers

SmokeyVW
ha! the title says it all
thank you Len

Danceably psychotic. Those jibbering 'talky' tracks sound like they were either a whole lot of work, or judicious application of a plug-in. Can you enlighten me on this?
In any event, great stuff!
SmokeyVW
glad you like it!
i had to look back at the project to review what i had done. all the voices originate from a single recording of me making silly vocalizations, coughing, and yelling "i don't wanna hear about it", and "oh "eck"
there are sixteen tracks with variously chopped up pieces of that recording, some with differing Vocal Transformer settings. some tracks route to the master reverb and echo buses.
there are ten tracks for the drum and bass, various modified loops for drums, original line for bass. the bass line was originally meant to have an eight note lead-in to the main beat, but i mixed it so the lead-in itself plays the role of the main beat too. it gives it a strange out-of-kilter feeling that way.
the whole thing goes through AUMultibandCompressor on the master
thanks for asking - it's fun describing my lunatic songs
Char
lunatic fringe.. trimming for your surreal surrey, maybe? Thanks.
SmokeyVW
thanks for listening!
