Description:
This is another immature pop song from my early youth (about the same time as "Taste the Fire"). The Lyrics are cheesy... but I liked the jazzy guitar chords enough to rework the song. It's not really indicative of what I do these days - but I hope you get some enjoyment out of it.
Lyrics:
Dyin' like a FlowerLife reduced to memories and memories I crave
When I had a soul to give, to you I gladly gave
And now I’m bleeding tears, my life just drains away
I’d give this one last breath to be with you today
Love, I’m dying like a flower
That once had beauty and power
Just one thing to say – I thought that you needed me more
I’m scraping my heart off the floor
I’m scraping my heart off the floor
Though the knife twists deep inside, I love you just the same
And as I fight the freeze, I need your gentle flame
It seems I’m made for you, I’m breaking with the need
I’ll hold you close as life and on your eyes I’ll feed
All you see I give it freely
Take me in your loving arms
And steal this mind from madness
And heal this broken man
And trade me love for sadness
Kiss my leprous hands
Just one thing to say, I thought that you needed me more
I’m scraping my heart off the floor
I’m scraping my heart off the floor
No-one else can say they tasted life so sweet
Nothing else can be ever such a treat
Love take me blind, I do it all the time
You are my mind, for you I crave
And I can lose the time of day
I can make it all go away
But you are here to stay
Always here to stay
Life’s reduced to you and it’s you I crave
When I had a heart to give, I gave it away
Now I’m bleeding life, life just melts away
I just have one last hope, to win you back today
Just takes water for the flower
To give us beauty and power
Just one thing to say – I know that I need you much more
Won’t you just open the door

I enjoy these older works that you allow us to listen to. They are excellent in every way and form a snapshot of where you were at another moment in time.
I particularly enjoyed the lyrics.
Take care.

This was different even for my past styles... but as you know... I don't like to be pigeon-holed!

Flanger? Nice guitar chords.
The intro is too long for my taste. One quarter of what you have here is quite enough. After the first couple of chords those repetitions don't really add anything.
The low string on the guitar(s) also seems to get in the way of the bass. I would roll off a bunch of frequencies.

It helps to get specific feedback. Appreciate it!

your flower in the picture need some water....... The song is cool, you have a lot of good songs. The structure on this is pretty rudimentary on the verses but the chorus lines are interesting. Quite a lot of change ups with the interjections of the various effects. Nice tune.......... Have a cool Yule....

Feedback from people like you is all the water I need mate!

Hey LT, nice, creative track! I think you could use maybe a little more dynamic in the verses, either vocal, instruments or a little of both.
LunaTrick
Dynamics is everything!

...YOU still enjoy this song, just as you did when you originally wrote it. Otherwise, you would not have posted it... I think it is mellow and I enjoy the chord changes and the subtle vocal harmonies you drop in now and again... I think it's a very enjoyable piece on many levels. My only suggestion would be to pump up the vocals so they are easier to hear. Cheezy lyrics!!!??? Don't put yourself down so much. These are as good as most...and probably better. I liked this song quite a lot. ... Maybe because I could understand its form and delivery. To me, that speaks volumes.
Peace.
