Good song, and nice production. Softly grooving beat, all sorts of synth sounds, a smoothly singing guitar.... Very nice.

cheers for your thoughts, much appreciated.

and I love all that you've done with it vocally and instrumentally, giving it that warm comfortable spaciousness, Just fabulous, Cheers M

When you say "pc mic", does that mean the vocals were recorded with the pinhole mic on your PC? If that's the case, I'd strongly recommend you get a decent mic as soon as finances allow it (in fact if its not a pinhole mic, I think you might need a better mic anyway).
Having got that out of the way, you do some great harmonies on this, and the instrumental side of things seems really well handled. You say "Its all a bit of a learning curve really ...", but it sounds you have the musical skills to do this home recording thing really well. We all have a steep learning curve with computer based recording, but its definitely worth taking the time to sort it out.
I hear really quality vocals on this, but they are marred by the poor quality of the recording. There are some pretty cheap, reasonable quality mics about - you could even try going to your friendly music shop and seeing if they'll let you try one out overnight - I did that before I bought my Rode.
Anyway, I hope I haven't been too negative about the mic thing - the song is great, and likewise your performance.
Cheers from Pambula Beach,

Thanks for your thoughts Neil.
It is unfortunately a pin hole mic i am using. I bought a Shure sm58 wireless mic very cheaply last week with a view to flogging it because it's not really what i need, and getting an rodes nt100.
Should make a big difference.
Then i just need an interface, and then.......and then....
One day at a time.
Happy Christmas too!

James,
Thanks for posting this. It has a great myriad of sounds and some sweet vox / lyrics. Great job on the harmonies also. Thanks for sharing...can't wait to hear some more.

very smooth music, great lyrics that flow nicely. However, the vocal track is a little muffled sounding, perhaps a little more EQ to remove some of the boominess. Great accents here and there with the trumpet and synths echoing the melody. I like it!
