Description

This is a song which talks about the seasons of life. It talks about two people who have something so thought out in there minds about the love of their life that they never find each other. The normal seasons come and go and so do the seasons of their life, unfortunately they never see what should have been.

Nice singing too.

Ok, I would suggest a slightly more structured approach to all those strings. Your main guitar strums basically the same two chords, throughout, so you can lower the volume on that bit to bring out the solos on the other instruments. About those solos: it feels like those instruments come in and disappear at more or less random times. For instance, the mandolin comes in halfway the first bar. I'd say, either come in at the start of the bar, or at the start of the second verse, but not at some arbitrary place. Likewise the instrument in the right channel: find some well-defined spot for it to come in with some instantly memorable lick. And that's my final suggestion: while there is plenty of cool riffing going on in the left and right channel, there's also a lot of "just mucking about". Identify the good bits, put the instrument to the front during those, and then push it way back or even turn it off when another instrument is doing something meaninful.

In other words: good material, it could just bear some organization.

VicDiesel provides really great feedback on this one. The guitars and mandolin throughout is way too much. While the song is only a little over 3 minutes long, it tends to feel longer because there is no place for it to breath because the playing and the vocals are constant. The Chorus sounds too much like the verses. Your voice is cool as the song goes on because it gets raspier, if I were you I would try to capitalize on that sound in your voice. Really warm up next time before you lay down your vocal track and your voice will sound really warm yet have more feeling. The foundation for a good tune but needs more fine tuning and structure.

I definitely think the electric guitar part needs redone. I enjoy the mandolin / guitar in this though. Not saying it couldn't be done a bit more organized but I thought it went together well. The lyrics were the last thing to be laid on this track though and after listening to it a while the electric was just a little too much, except for the outro, I thought it was fitting but during vocals a little too much. It took away from the vocals. The feedback has been great though. Thanks for helping me think things out and really listen to it in a bit more depth. Sometimes I get a little too eager when I hear something I enjoy a lot and just go, bamm!! Thanks for pushing me to listen a little more on this one.

Way too much if you want to know what I think. I don't think it adds anything to the song at all to have it going on through the vocals. It seems disrespectful of the vocals and the lyrics. It's surprising to consider that the words came last, and I guess it sort of makes sense. It would be a nice instrumental jam, but with the addition of the vocals, it seems like there's a lot of conflicting elements. At the outro, the guitar plays some nice stuff. It sounds like the mandolin is slightly out of tune, which is pretty common in the world of mandolin playing. VicDeisel has pointed out well what needs work. What I would do with the mandolin is make it do a sort of choppy chording (not too loud) while the singing is going on and then have a simple clear melodic hook that the guitar and the mandolin play together between the chorus and the verse to reinforce the chorus melody. That will make the chorus stand out and break up the song. The acoustic guitar plays the same rhythm throughout almost so it does seem a little monotonous and that would help give some variety.
