Lyrics
Stranger things have happened in the course of my retreat
Images I once held high lie scattered at my feet
If someone told me long ago I’d find myself here now
I wouldn’t have believed them then - I didn’t want to know
When I was a younger man my truth I could create
Telling lies between the lines but catching them too late
I wanted you to love me for the things that I had done
How was I to know it doesn’t matter in the end
But Oh Lord
How I can be deceived
Into thinking that reflections
Are something to believe
If I could do it all again I’d like to believe
That I’d take another course and do things differently
Vanity has led me to concluding on my fate
That somehow from this distance I can see things perfectly
But Oh Lord
How I can be deceived
Into thinking that reflections
Are something to believe

I really enjoyed the lyrics on this one. I enjoyed the way the verses were sung but I imagined a little more power behind the chorus. The guitar / drum beat was nicely done. Overall good song. Thanks for sharing.
