As a big fan of Dave's (Shadow of Nine) music, I'm positively chuffed to offer this as my last post of 2008. Eden's gate is the latest of Dave's brilliant pieces and I was very flattered when he asked if I would like to do a vocal version. The original instrumental (http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=102979) stands on its own - but I hope you find some merit in my additional lyricism.
Listening to the track over and over, I heard a big grandiose sound that seemed to call for epic lyrics, something Dantean perhaps. In my version, the expulsion from Eden becomes an opportunity for the lovers as the ideas of perfection, eternity, and being controlled seem less palatable in this brave new world beyond the garden. It becomes a song of new love and freedom from constraints. I am an Agnostic with deep theological interests - and this is not meant to offend in any way. The Gan Eden story has been reproduced in many of the ancient scriptures - and one that I've always read allegorically (and yes, with irony!).

Great stuff .... nice vox from Luna (as usual) .... you have a great gift for writing some very poignant lyrics too Luna ! They always match the music bed perfectly too ... the whole mood!

Appreciate the feedback... but this is not my composition, so I can't release it or rework it. I actually like the subtle guitar and think the vocals synch in all but one or two places. The specific feedback is very helpful though....
