Another Storymany years now
it’s finally behind me
at times it comes back to mind
just to haunt me
and often I want to tell you all about it
but the timing is all wrong
it’s another story
i will tell you some time
when it’s right
but now I only wish
to leave it all
behind me
for now lets just enjoy the moment
for what it is
for what it is
no more anger
no more tears
time to put behind all the fears
the years seem to find a way
a way for healing
I wont let it keep me
from moving on
with my life
it’s another story
i will tell you some time
when it’s right
but now I only wish
to leave it all
behind me
for now lets just enjoy the moment
for what it is
for what it is

.. what a fabulous track .... the vocals sound a little "muffled" in the mix and would make the whole thing sound excellent if they were mixed in "crisper" with a little more clarity .... It would definitely be worth your tinkering around a little with the mix to bring the vocals up a little more and clearer as this is a great tune !

really liked the simplicity of this, nice harmonies. Always love acoustic and mandolin together .. and nice recording of those. Mix is good level wise, but I would suggest the following fairly simple improvement suggestions/tweaks to the vocal tracks: get or make a 'pop-shield' (or apply some plosive reduction: 'p's, 'f's, 'j's, 't's and 'b's). EQ the vocals a little (do sound a little muffled in contrast to the brighter bed as Alannah said). Also, everything sounds very central on the vocals: try experiment with some panning .. eg. duplicating and panning equally the backing vocal track L/R ..and add a touch more reverb to them evenly.
Pity there is no download :o(

Nice vocals and harmonies!

Always work so well together. I could totally hear a soft acoustic bass working with this too. What a great addition that would make.
I too felt the vocals were a little muffled sounding. If I were you, I'd take another pass at them and add in a soft finger plucked bass to this to fill out the bottom.
Excellent Holley!

No reason in repeating what's been said in terms of suggestions for improving the sound... I'm mostly blown away by the song... the guitar... mando... beautiful vocal and harmonies... and of course, those excellent lyrics. Very strong song and an excellent performance...
The only thing I might suggest.. and more a personal preference... is to bring the song to a conclusion instead of the slow fade.
Again, this is a terrific song!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!! Sorry I am so late in reponse I have a lot going on. I do hope to redo this song soon to tighten up the guitar and vocal harmonies and will post a better one for free download. Holley :)

Loved the progression a chord selection. The vocals and harmony are spot on. Lovely melody. Great combination and a fine acoustic composition.
