Description:
THE WIND
Inspired by tokai. http://www.macjams.com/artist/tokai
The working title of this song was 'Stevescape'
Steve just does outstanding layering with his guitars in his music.
Steve got me layering some 'line 6' stuff
...then...
I started putting tracks together/
sent it all to Karmatoburn (KTB) http://www.macjams.com/artist/Karmatoburn
John(ktb) gave me all the piano you hear plus the synth leads.(and some vocal chorus tossed in there)
He just helped me make scence of it... and for that.... i thank you Mr ktb!
Its time for me to let it go
so you tell me
am I ok here u guys
sometimes i think i may be to far gone for this world
so i was hopeing that 'The Wind" could wisk me off to another place where the sun is warm and the sand is a bit hot, the waves are big, and the time is endless, the 'banana sip sops' are free, and everybody is smiling...
sorry living in New England makes for a long winter...
Peace
Thanks John ... Karmatoburn

Thanks for the great words. Your ears hear a lot going on in this tune, and i was wondering if it was all working. I always manage to make things a bit trippy.
Then i sent it to John! He has magic fingers.
pleased to share

It's like the calm or the feel of the moment before the storm breaks loose. And then thunder comes along with the drums playing the same figure as the guitar/bass theme — and it settles and the cool breeze comes along... I'm getting ready for a night out... And waddayouknow, around 02:25 the mojo kicks in and it gets funky. Cool:) Digging the cool layered guitars you do. John made a great foundation for you to jam along to.
I can easily understand you longing for a place where the sun is warm and the sand is a bit hot... We have -9C (15,8 F) today... but it looks to be a beautiful day with blue sky, so I'm good:)
Thanks for a good start of my day Tim!

I love it when music can create an illusion such as a storm brewing...thats an awesome feeling/when a storm is brewing....
what a great description u give/ makes me wish i had named the song 'Before the storm'.
One of My favorite songs of all time is 'After the storm' / John Coltrne
funny the song name should come up
this song is named after 'the wind' in your song 'Something I Can't take'
a bit cosmic / i would not have thought to mention it
Yes John, 'KTB' himself, has done it again with his dazzling riffs and piano chords
his rhythm chops in here are very cool and add the funk i was hoping for
thanks for the listen

blows me away. All the elements work together so well, just love that start. Guitar tones are very sweet indeed and compliment each other extremely well. Everything is so well balanced here, with sir Jon's unmistakably sounding contribution making such a delightful resonance through out.
Excellent work chaps, i am impressed and now inspired. Hang on in the Tim, each day gets lighter.....

When I lived in Mass. my neighbors would tell me "Well, Spring's a little late this year" EVERY JUNE!!!
Might be grey there now, but you'd never know it from this 'tune'. Sounds like you're going to spin out into space one of these days, Tim, and float forever in pure sound. Could be time to start thinking about an album, man. Sweet track.

I'm there. Great atmosphere and layers - love the way you guys collaborated on this. The percussion is pretty sweet - and of course the keys and guits are wonderful.
kassia
love the layers. the opening is incredible, the way it whispers and builds, one sweet sound at a time. awesome keys from ktb. all around this is just incredible. so much lovely space and room to breathe, but full of interesting textures. kept me constantly engaged but was soothing. wrapped itself right around me like a good wind should do. just awesome. thanks!
Reggie_Pole
Beautiful piece of music. Lots of space, delicate and tasteful. The bass line leaves something to hang on to, and keeps everything together. Cool. Your Strat is expressive and restrained, with lots of personality coming through. Gotta love that KTB. Nice touches.

The wind may blow cold
But you have discovered warmth.
Music warms the soul.

is fantastic. The placement is spot on!
I have to confess that I haven't heard the original tracks, but this is tight!
Sweet!
