Lyrics
YOU WERE THE PROM QUEEN
HE WAS A BAD DREAM
YOU WEREN’T EVEN
FROM THE SAME SCENE

HE KNOCKED YOUR BOOKS DOWN
JUST LIKE A DUMB CLOWN
WHY DOES HE HAVE TO
BE – SO – MEAN?

MY MY MY
DOES IT DO
ANY GOOD TO CRY?
WHEN YOU’RE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME
JUST A THINKIN’ ‘BOUT THE WRONG GUY?

HEY HEY HEY
YOU SEE HIM GOING THE WRONG WAY
BUT YOU’RE SITTING THERE AND WAITING
THINKING HE’LL BE BACK SOME DAY

YOU’VE GOT A FUTURE
HE’S GOT A PAST
YOU’LL BE IN FIRST PLACE
HE’LL COME IN LAST

YOU TRY TO HELP HIM
HE TRIES TO HURT YOU
AS MUCH IN COMMON AS
BANDAIDS AND DIRT DO (X 3)

MY MY MY
DOES IT DO
ANY GOOD TO CRY?
WHEN YOU’RE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME
JUST A THINKIN’ ‘BOUT THE WRONG GUY?

HEY HEY HEY
YOU SEE HIM GOING THE WRONG WAY
BUT YOU’RE SITTING THERE AND WAITING
THINKING HE’LL BE BACK SOME DAY

ETC....

Eno?
Naw, it's not enough to say this reminds me of early Eno, since it's got a lot more guitar juju. It sort of reminds me of Kraftwerk too. Very cool!

Hey, leave us creeps alone.
The way you sing 'be so mean'- pure Numan! This is very Tubeway Army , and one of my fav songs from you - really ballsy, with great robo boy vocals. Bandaids and dirt? Poetic genius!

the real macjams
Ha. It bears your trademark as early as the first cluster of notes. Genuine, Vintage 5xa. Nice blending of gritty guitar textures, fidgeting synths, and sing-along vocal lines on an old classical story. The end is scary.

Great lyrics and a great sound.

Are those all synths from GB?

Cheers

AAA Card
Classic Dorsey here. You must be the Beethoven of the Electro Popworld. You even brought Echoroom out of hiding.

Really nice lyrics, too.

Cool way to begin the year.

Janey's Cryin!
hey wait, does this count girls who've fallen for ME?

I like the lo-fi production and the simple kick/snare drums. REALLY dig the little synth break half way through and at the end. Very Yazzy of you. Chorus is great! This is just dying for a vocoder. I like this as much as the Maid of Metal tune - 2009 is going to be the year of the synthesizer...

I can sooo
relate. Love the lyrics. I used to think I would need to go to "jerk" camp to get the girl back in the day. Always seemed the bigger the creep the prettier the girl.

Sweet
What I love about this (and I love a lot of things about it...) is the vocal - great attitude and swagger, and a nice curl of the lip almost audible in a couple of spots. Great sound - love those synths - and the drums are lovely, nice snappy sound on the snare. Nicely stuff. Very cool. Peace.

Nice Track
Very interesting lyrics, your recent track has been about similar subjects, Women with the wrong man, hmmm, is that from experience?
Cool track and love the mix of electronics and guitars. This electropop you do is really good, and danceable as well which is a bonus.

ooh power chords in a FEA song
what's next? Welcome the clean green machine. This sounds great Bob - first class production. Does this mean we won't be hearing any lead bass as guitar solos anymore? Getting lots of mileage out of that AAA card eh?

Great.
I really like the line "As much in common as bandaids and dirt do". Of course the tasty little synth bits are great. I especially like the fat and fuzzy one at the end.

Classic "Arms"!
Well controlled, Bob. You could have gone all out mental with is one, but you've managed to keep it nice n measured. great tune. There are bits in there that are almost classical, esp. around the 2'24" mark..

Best line for me is, " You've got a future, he's got a past" - juxtapositional genius!

Classic 5EA coda - love that extended Bobness you put there. Retro Arms circa 2006/7....sooo old!

And thanks for the iTunes ready lyrics and artwork, something you know I'm passionate about.

Cheers, big guy,

Jim

How do you do that?
And can you teach me?

I LOVE this!

P.S. From a distance, sometimes it sounds like "pennies and dirt do". Honestly, I like it both ways. Great writing, Bob. You've been so strong on that lately. Glad you're making time for your music and sharing it with us!

kinda stoopid in a good way. I really like the big guitar chords but some of those little tweaky synth things are kinda too cute. Still - you do manage to rawk.
