Description
Flipping through a notebook of scraps and scribbles I was actually trying to hitch up an uptempo pop feel for a new tune for a gig with my rock band mates. I ended up driving this one down to a lag tempo and recording it tonite in the drafty cold studio.
It’s a cold draft, in a slowed down lonely heart that started out with ideas of a pop banger. LOL.
JL: Acoustic guitars, bass guitar, percussions, sloppy pedal steel guitar, vocals, backing vox, mix and production.
The cover art is a Tony Fitzpatrick piece. Tony is a local Chicago artist who’s art has graced the covers of Steve Earle albums and others.

Lyrics
The One She Loves
© 2009 Boss Hook Music
She tries the pills, she tries the gin
Tries almost anything to forget about him
She calls her Momma, she calls her friends
Talks about the weather, to forget about him
No matter what she does, he’s still the one she loves
She reads the papers, and she makes her bed
She watches satellite to keep him out of her head
She swallows pills, she drinks more gin
She counts her blessings to forget about him
No matter what she does, he’s still the one she loves
He’s still the one she loves
No matter what she does
He’s still the one she loves
So she takes more pills and drinks more gin
She’ll do anything to forget about him
She calls her Momma, she calls her friends
Talks about the weather, to forget about him
No matter what she does, he’s still the one she loves
