Description
First tune for 2009. Slow, ambient start, but kicks in at about 2 minutes. There are 14 tracks altogether and I've used the Zebra 2 soft synth for all except the drums. This had had very little mastering, the mix seemed OK to me, but maybe not as loud as usual. It's not really electropop, but there is no electronica genre here. Any feedback would be gratefully received.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

I love...
... the Zebra! It's an amazing synth with a fantastic arpeggiator. A handy tool if your keyboard skills are like mine!

Thanks. Glad I made your coffee taste good!

TD intro and then...
The first two minutes are so 1970's Tangerine Dream (I like it!) but then you move the song well into the 80's world of synth pop (even if still with a TD twist). That's also very nice. Good exercise for my feet and toes :-) Maybe consider some extra everything (echo/reverb) on those last couple of notes to make them hold a bit longer and not stop quite so abrubtly? Just a thought. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Thanks Henke!
I never really think about a style of anything when I put a tune together, so your comparisons are very flattering indeed.

I did have some dub regen on the last few notes, but it didn't really work. I took it out and let the tune end abruptly as it is. I sort of like it!

Thanks and Happy New Year to you. :)

Upbeat...
but also, down beat sometimes, and mostly sideways-beats... this is wacky fun. It is like like ELP/TD snuck in and re-programmed the Walt Disney Electrical Parade... The bassy-sequenced/arp-thing is awesome, I want one!

LOL!
What a description! The "bassy-sequenced/arp thing" btw, is a setting on the Zebra that I tweaked a bit. It was an arp setting, so didn't require too much finger work on my part. It was quite difficult, however, making the loop I made fit in with all else.

Thanks!

Dave
Really nice, positive (dare I say "uplifting"?) piece Dave. You really have the synth side of things sorted, and you get great, clean sound.

Thanks Neil
The sound may be clean, but the debris around the computer after I'd finished certainly wasn't! I'm talking here of coffee cups, sandwich/biscuit crumbs, apple cores, banana skins, bits of crumpled paper with setting written thereon [and other unmentionable things]. Took a while to clean it all up. S-W-M-B-O made me do it. ;-)

Really kind words and you're welcome to the download. That's the best compliment another artist can give, imo.

Yep, that's davajonah.
You definitely have your own sound. Fantastic production, as always. Kind of TD meets the Mario Brothers, with a happy and carefree sheen. Love the intertwining of the various parts.

So, what is a myngos?

Yeah it's me!
But who are you???

TD meets the Mario Brothers - too funny. :-)

"Myngos", btw is an anagram of "My Song". I have them littered all over my desk top! I couldn't think of anything to call this one, so I used that. Boring really, and I'm surprised no one spotted it!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. :-)

Galloping zebras!
Yes, that's one of my favourite synths too.

Cool track. Delicious sounds, and tasty arps and hooks throughout. Very enjoyable.

Check out...
... Computer Music magazine. If you buy a copy, on the DVD are a number of free synths, which are all fully functional. One is the Zebra CM, [mac or PC]. Install it and have a play - it's really good. So good, in fact, I was persuaded to buy the full version!

Thanks for listening. :-)

Enjoyed
Warm crisp soundscape full of clean tones. I especially like the lively analogue-style synth that comes in around the 2 minute mark. Nicely put together.
