Hi Michael....... Thanks for stopping by to listen to my little experiment. Some of this mix is a change for me but the change is still a small one, for the moment. Hi Daniel........ I can see the Vangelis angle but I don't know much about Jarre's music. This is something that I need to change. Oldfield I enjoyed years ago, with the Exorcist sound track but his latest album seems very derivative to me. Maybe I should listen to the album again. Take care. Very dolphinish. I think beautiful animals will become one of my favorite subjects for ambient. I don't know how you did this, but the beginning gave me visions of a group (herd? school?) of dolphins swimming along and jumping the way they do. Towards the end it sounded like things went more underwater, as if they stopped to dive, you know, to do their dolphinish thing down there. An effective experiment. Very clever indeed. Hi..... I put this together by choosing a programmable algorithm, tweaking it, then splitting the MIDI-out to 6 or 8 soft synth instances and by tweaking the sound presets of these soft synths until the blended stereo out sounded to my liking. The secret is not in the actual notes but in the way the preset's ADSR-envelope behaves when triggered. In other words change a preset, get a different soundscape with the same algorithm. Take care. Paul It's been a crazy time here for me and I needed something to help me relax last night so I came to MJs looking and found this. I just sat at my computer and listened to it 3 times in a row.
