Description

Sometimes I write very opinionated commentary pieces, and this is one of them. This song describes what has been happening to the Christian church, particularly in America. At an alarming rate, preaching the gospel with conviction has been reduced to giving man-centered, feel good pep talks, and/or teaching doctrines not found anywhere in the Bible. The departure from the Bible is taking the power out of sermons, and a powerless gospel is no gospel at all.

Don't get me wrong; there are still some very good churches out there, but you have to search for them!

Jesus, fully God and man is Savior
He died, then rose again to make us free
We cone to him by grace alone by faith in Him
For his atoning work at Calvary

Sola -Scriptura has become passé
As a smorgasbord of poison is our fare, if you’re
in a lukewarm driven, me me sensitive church Lite
Protect your family and Emerge from there!

	Powerful Powerful stuff. Nothing more powerful than the expression of something you feel strongly about. You really get the strength of your feeling across, and do it with a magnificent vocal performance (as always!) and a lovely melody. The bass sounds really good, too - subtle and effective. Kickin' butt! You tell 'em! In all areas, church, politics, school, we should always watch for "misleaders", and kick them out before they do great harm. Very good message, well sung and nice melody. There were a couple "crowded metrical issues" on a couple lines there, but otherwise they are the usual super-polished well-thought-out RoxyLyrics I usually see from you. Good to hear strong stuff from you.

This is very Hip, and you hit the hypocrisy square on the head of those pirates of the pulpit making a 10% living off of the generosity of the masses. Your singing on this is so professionally folksinger sounding, I think you deserve a lot more of attention than what your getting here. Great voice too with the old Gibson. You two are great pair.

Funny you should say that, because I sent it to Fightingforthefaith.com and the internet radio apologetics host, Chris Rosebrough, included it in the 1/22 podcast. In turn, his podcast was listed in Worldview News, an online Christian newspaper. So more people got to hear it, and my hope is that more people will speak out, not just about what fake church is, but what real church is. Full Gospel
When I read your lyrics it made me think about psalm1 (which I was reading last night) and also about how Jesus came to divide as in Luke 12. I have seen where people have gotten up and left when the Full Gospel is preached. As a musician I also tire of the fluffy lyrics and white breaded studio product- where they say Him when it 'could also mean' one's lover.... arghhh. This is why I always ensure that His name, Jesus is in the lyrics. Thanks for putting this out there and glad that it seems to be getting wide exposure. Sounds like there is a special anointing on this song.

Amen, sister!
Very well thought-out and written. Also great vocals & guitar work. We have a local big-shot here in the Seattle area, who will go unmentioned. Been in his church one time. Posted on the front walls were far-larger-than-lifesized posters of this particular pastor (and sometimes his wife) climbing mountains, riding his Harley, etc. Who's being worshiped here? Sorry - didn't mean to steal your soapbox, but again - great job. You're singing about what many people are thinking.
