you're speeding! &mdash 11/21/04 - 09:27:54 PM
insanely fast percussion-love how it got even faster when
things kicked in. simply turned into a collage of parts &
pieces at some points. feels like travelling thru maddening
traffic full of stop signs, red lights & grandma's in the left
lane. i think that git solo was finally making it onto the
expressway & being able to get the lead out. some parts i
think were overly busy, but on the whole imparted a
feeling of speedily zipping thru those detour cones

Amorphus fusion &mdash 11/22/04 - 08:19:51 AM
Cool improv track. A nice drive. The chorused
smooth sax sound is new for you, almost like it it run thru
an effects filter (reminds me of Miles' electric fusion
period). Psychedelic jazz fusion. Not quite amorphus but
very wild and fascinating. Great cross-genre moments.
Did you do the perc track? Very cool. Nice session; great
energy. (Bass could be louder, help drive it more; could
even highlight it somewhere. And some of the key change
bridges between solos could be set up with maybe more
drama. But you place everything together really well,
especially the rock and roll guitar licks and the main sax
melody in the last half.)

Amorphus fusion &mdash 11/22/04 - 09:09:37 AM
Thank you! I really had no idea at the beginning, where I am going with this. I
recorded short snippets of sax melody first, then it just sat on my hard drive
for a while; then I just played with some drum loops and rock bass loops.
Then I realized, that sax parts were too "swingy" - I re-recorded the sax,
playing straight eights this time, then replaced bass loop with a MIDI slapped
bass - that was the first posting of this tune. Scorpjammer "hijacked" the
track and get back to me with totally lushious rock licks and real bass tracks
- that was a gread turnaround; he is also responsible for the key change at
the end; all the solos submitted were so different and interesting - I had
great fun rearranging the parts. If I get more solos, I will certainly remix - it
might grow to be another 10 min. jam, but hey, this is all about
collaboration...

Yeah, IG... &mdash 11/22/04 - 09:33:42 PM
We be jammin'! I feel like ka_klick has me passing
through a highway tunnel hypnotized by the amber-
colored tunnel lights whizzing by my head. Mcboy
has me racing through Miami's Little Havana District
being chased by Dade County's finest. As for me,
well I'm cursing and trying to muscle my way
through grid-lock somewhere along the I-95
northeast corridor. And you, you're blowing away on
your sax, totally in control, enjoying the crazy ride.
lol! What a fun tune. Well done :)

Ilya this one took it to the next level! I am glad I didn't try
to keep up on this one! The guitars will need to be
extinguished after the boys set them down! Great stuff,
time... motion...,and sound textures for the mind! Keep up
the great work!

The notion of jam is the most democratic off all, if executed the way I believe
is right... Thanks for the good words, and jam on!

Groove of the week &mdash 11/26/04 - 08:54:23 AM
Those drums are just excellent. Liked the slap bass a lot
too. Kudos to all guitarists for having the nerve to have a
bash without risking permanently knotting your fingers
together. Sax is knockout too. Ooooo liike the big guitar
chords and the rock n roll riffs too.

Fab. Really viscerally exciting. Am actually writing this in
the Apple Store in London (just opened). Haven't slept or
been home for about 3 days and this really hits the spot.

Rivetting.

I'd almost forgotten doing this... I feel honored and
humbled to be in this company. Been so busy at work the
last month that this got driven out of my head. I think
you've managed to weave all of this together admirably,
and it is a great frenetic driving crazy kind of jam, thanks
for letting me sit in here. :-)

great guitar guests on this track &mdash 09/28/08 - 09:54:21 PM
The solos from your guitar buds drive this thing thru the tunnel around the FDR sharp bend into the mid town rush hour cross town to the other side, on the west coast where the view of the Hudson is shinny with lights, and the yellow cabs fly around you even though there is no where for them to go...
anyway
this tune is cooking
McBoy I amfamiliar with and i shall check out your other guitar choices
peace out
GREAT SAX and song, by the way
