Description
I took the liberty to add various instruments and vocals to Sam's fabulous track (DarkStep - http://www.macjams.com/song/49709).
Nightshade Syndicate: Keyboards, electronics, Drums, Song composition.
Luna Trick: Vocals, Lyrics, Guitar, Bass, Cello, Brass/Woodwind Arrangement.
My note to Sam:
I added some tremolo double bass on the intro and ending - as well as a solo cello melody that simply doubles your melody. The verse section has a choral texture that comes at the end of the vocal phrases. The chorus sections include a very faint distorted guitar to separate it - as well as a simple bass line. I also added vocal harmonies to the chorus. Because it's a longer track, I wanted to do something different to set it apart - so the third (shorter) voice has a melodic lead guitar that gives way to a clarinet melody. Each phrase thereafter brings in a new woodwind instrument, then brass instrument, and finally a timpani. The ending fades out as it begins in the intro.
The lyrics involve the psychological dark steps taken by lovers toward and away from each other. The voices in the verse and chorus are in conflict with each other.
This is a stunning track and I really enjoyed working with it. I hope you like what I have done. I find it fitting that Nightshade and Luna are in collaboration here - and the track is moonblanched and full of nocturnal mystery.
