Goin' down for one last Time - Mastered

Description
A train song
This is a song about trying to run away from pain and loss. It doesn't work by the way.

I took this song down a while ago and decided to rework it and make a master to put on a CD. I've been working on it and made some instrument changes and additions to it to give it a fuller sound. For those of you that heard the original, this one is better, I think, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

Hope you enjoy this new and improved version of "Goin' Down For One Last Time"

Ed

p.s. Can also be used at my funeral ;-)

Verse I
On a freight train out of Memphis, headed for L.A.
I'm leavin' all your memories behind
The winter winds are blowin' cold across the great divide.
But not as cold as you were the night we said goodbye

Chorus
Doin' forty miles an hour, in a boxcar headed west
Gotta to leave your world behind me, gotta to give my heart a rest
I'm hole'd up on a freight train, tryin' to get you off my mind
Goin' out to " Shaky City ", goin' down for one last time

Verse 2
With the rhythm of the boxcar, rockin' me to sleep.
In restless dreams I'm haunted by your face
I guess there isn't any way, to leave the hurt behind.
Cause even on this lonesome train I've got you on my mind

Chorus

Pickin' Verse

Chorus

Rise and shine my good friend, it's time to get your day on. MAn I don't know how you could listen to something like this with a hangover. It'd kill me.

The CD is going to be for airplay on one of the local radio stations here in Fort Smith and for sale in the area. I', still working on the other songs for the CD so it'll be a while yet.

Thanks again for listening and the kind words Bill. Be well and be cool,

Hello my friend
Yeah I'm back in the saddle again. I'm putting together a Country CD to submit to one of the local radio stations for airplay and this is among the songs that'll be on it. The way it was when I posted it last year wasn't good enough to get on the air, but I'm hopeful that this new version is. I guess time will tell.

Thanks again for coming by and listening to it Dick. I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, and I appreciate your support.

Be well and be cool,

Ed

Glad you came by for a visit and listened to my song. It's one of the songs I'm putting on the new album I'm going to release for the local radio station. Not sure they'll play it, but we'll find out once I get it done.

Nice to know you enjoyed the song and I appreciate the kind words on it. Thanks again for coming by and leaving the great comment.

Got Your Ticket Punched...
on the Heartbreak Express, eh? Yeah, I've been involved in a few relationship train wrecks, myself. ;)

Nice work, Ed. Pithy lyrics and some pickin' reminiscent of James Burton and Scotty Moore get this song on track and make for a fun journey for the listener... if not the writer. ;)

Yeah, pity the poor writer, he's on a spiral headed down, don't ya know.

Glad you stopped to listen to this one Joe. It's a major rework of one I posted last year that's going on my new CD when I get ready to publish it. But it's gonna be a while yet because the other songs need the treatment too.

Thanks again for listening Joe and the kind words, glad you liked it.

It's gonna be a while before it's done, I'm still getting the songs together so I can redo some, and master them all.
Glad you liked the way this one turned out, and I do appreciate the kind words on it. Thanks again for that.

I went and listened to "Orange Sun Shine, and I really loved it. Thanks for giving me inspirational credit on the Pedal Steel. I'm not sure it's ever been used in a Rock song before, but it sure has now. And it worked really well, you did a great job o it.

Ok, time to fess up Mark.
Yes I am a retired G.O.O. Master come to haunt MJ.

The only problem with that is if I'm haunting the place I must be dead. And I can guaranty you I'm not getting any checks for anywhere in Tennessee, or anywhere else that's associated with the "Music" industry. Unless of course you consider checks from SSA part of the music business. I mean after all, the Library of Congress is where we keep Copyrights isn't it, and that the same government as the SSA.

I guess the short version is, I Wish !

Thanks for the very kind words mark and for listening to this one . I am pleased that you liked it and let me know.

Take care, be well and be cool my friend,

Ed
