You got 1-bombed. And no comment. Don't you f*@#in
hate that? Probably didn't listen to the whole song either.

For the whole first section I was waiting for the "Dr.
Whoooooo."

A little dry at times, a little R2-D2-ish at times. Would
have liked some variation with the beat. Really liked the
synth sounds you chose. And the Noam Chomsky
sample--not real clear if you're trying to say something,
or just using the sample for effect.

Anyways, not too bad. I like some of your other works
better. Keep it up!

I dig the vibe &mdash 12/17/04 - 08:24:42 PM
cool vibe on this one. I like the way it builds up. Kinda
reminds of a sci-fi version of Underworld. I like the crazy
noises. I am guessing they are the SH101. I thought it
could have used a little bit of a break down in the middle
though. Something really ambient that builds up and
explodes to the end.

yes that is the sh-101, the big noise maker. i agree that a break would be
good. maybe i will remix it a bit. its all live on 2 tracks so i never really
thought about tweaking it afterwards, it was more of layering up and ongoing
process.

Well done. It got kind of long and boring at times. The first melody change was a bit abrupt. I would've liked an echo of what was coming to creep in from somewhere first--kind of build up to the change.
All in all though, way to work those loops.
I was thinking about your forum post today about collaborating and thought this kind of synth ambient thing would go good with an a.m.-radio-kind-of thin guitar playing something here and there (that would be me).

I think it is interesting that I find long songs to be TOO long very easily here. I guess it the desire to hear as many songs as fast as possible hoping to find a gem in the crowd.
And making the songs, at my point in the learning curve, takes much less time if I only make a 2min. 24 sec. song. Hey, it worked for the Beatles.

good points and yes its long and boring too (unless youre playing it). it was
all done live though with samplers, synths, and drum machine through an 8
channel mixer and recorded to GB on one stereo track. so its more of a
performance and may explain why its so long (i was trying to figure out what
to do next)

we could possibly work with some strange audio/synth loops for starters.

i'll get back to you soon
