Description
This follows from my Cosmology for 3 Celli. I am not a double bassist by trade - but I have one and like to have a go. This instrument is rarely featured as a solo instrument... which is a crying shame! Enjoy!

It´s
hard to bring new colours to an instrument that ehxales somberness and darkness even when one only looks at it.
But I think you succeeded.
I can hear and feel the playful aspect and the sense of exploration you used on this.
It sounds great as an instrumental piece but If you managed to insert vocals it would be the definite Nat Baldwin song.

Thanks
I've had this double bass lying around for a while - and thought one day, why don't I use this. So here goes!

Not pretty...
...but, WOW!!! You are looking at these low string instruments in a way that I don't believe anyone else ever has. It is truly amazing, Daniel, not only the SOUNDS you are getting out of this bass, but the FEELINGS you're evoking or eliciting. This is just remarkable. (Oh, and beautifully recorded, I might add.) I don't know much about the truly experimental, but THIS is in a category by itself, to be sure. Brilliant ideas.
Peace.
Paul

Thanks Paul
It is a great compliment - but there is a great double bass composer called Francois Rabbath that does wonders with this instrument. Look him up when you get a chance!

Daniel,
The wise man said, "You must listen to your heart." I think I can hear your love for music and I am always impressed by your ability. The sound is compelling. Thank you.

Incredibly creative and original
Blimey, you play double bass as well? Well obviously.

I'm not sure I've heard a bowed double bass before ... it's like a cello on acid. Combined with the plucking and percussive sounds it's immensely expressive. And as Paul says, it's as much about the expression of your soul as it is of the instrument ... you're pushing boundaries on every level. Very impressed!
