A Fool In Love

Description
A collaboration with a pro musician/arranger friend, Gary Rue. I wrote song and sent Gary a rough voice/guitar demo. Based on demo, he laid down GB drums, real bass, electric guitar parts. Then he bumped tracks up to ProTools for mix. I came in and laid down my final acoustic rhythm and lead vocal and he finished mix. It's the most finished sounding thing I've done to date. I loved working this way, since I'm a technoklutz and clueless in studio.

Lyrics
And so it’s come to this
In memory of a kiss, unbestowed
I stand alone outside your window

I’m sick with love obsessed
Regrets for thoughts confessed
Find me here alone outside your window

A fool in love knows no shame
I stand guilty as convicted
I played the part, I’ll take the blame
My vagrant heart is now evicted

And so I linger a little longer
So ashamed that I’m not stronger
But pride’s in short supply
And you’re the reason why
I’m dreaming here outside your window

Up and down your street
I walk and hope we’ll meet
But the light is gone inside your window

And now you’ve gone to sleep
No need of company
Shadows fall upon your window

I comb the wreckage of my vanity
For tattered pieces of my dignity

A fool in love knows no shame
I stand guilty as convicted
I played the part, I’ll take the blame
My vagrant heart is now evicted

I know this feelin’s unrequited
So why I’m tryin’ to ignite it?
And so I bide my time
Hoping you will find
Me here tonight outside your window

That Fools in Love
I love Ricki Nelson too. The teenager in love theme reworked, maybe a failure to launch vibe, the lyric is stuffy but not schmaltzy, I appreciate that...
Elvis guitar player show up for this session? The feel is vintage, nice verby fills, I'm looking for more of this...
