Drums in ambient? I don't usually go for that, but you've used restraint here, and they work nicely. I like your choice of instruments here, and the composition conveys a sense of ... mmmm ... pensive hyperawareness ... can't quite nail it down. Very nice. We need more genres to choose from! If they had a more accurate genre term for the stuff I do, I'd pick it. I know this isn't really ambient with the beats; I'd label it "downtempo" but that's not an option. I'm a fan of di.fm's "Iskur's Guide to Electronic Music," which has informed me of more sub-genres and sub-sub-genres than I care to name! Ha. Anyways, thanks for listening and for the kind words. sloe I like the various elements of this piece: interesting sounds and textures, a traditional arrangement, and nicely mixed. The percussion does not need to be in this piece, yet its addition adds an element to the song with goes beyond the ambient and in my opinion gives the tune originality an freshness.
