Description
This is a collab taken from the track "Bhajana in the Raga Funkin Bagel" I posted a while back.
After many delayed months of getting around to workin on it, we have a largely completed version here. I did little to her vocal tracks, and rearranged some of my music, hopefully for the better.
Also, I have no idea what genre to categorize this in. Holler if you have ideas.
We hope you enjoy the spooky, melancholic funk.

sultry
funky goodness. Love the delicate percussion and ever so mellow organ dancing in the background. Alannah sounds terrific. Can't help but think smoke hazed urban late night ambience. Swaying bodies.

I like...
...the way the rhythm of the instrumentation and that of the vocals mesh together at the beginning..

Cool production work...nice piece...

Alright
I followed your tread in the FORUM's. I am surprised. (And disregard the 5 poster, move on!). This is a very cool mood and beat, jazzy, dark, mysterious. I don't know if you've heard of Siouxie & The Banshees, but she and the drummer Budgie had a duo, which this reminds me off. The arrangement, choice of instruments, the wonderful vocals (you really have a unique voice), it's all very, very good. I am glad I found your thread, and essentially this song.

thanks
i will go find that duo. i always like hearing what my work sounds like: from kraftwerk to sioxie and the banshees.)
the thread was a somewhat regrettable moment of frustration without a filter. i am glad that it helped folks find my song tho.
thanks a bunch.

The music showcases
Alannah's sultry singing and the whole piece captures attention and envelopes the listener in a sensuous state of mind. Not bad, I'd say. Loved it.

Excellent collab
great meeting of styles. I like the minimal backing and the way A's powerful vocals move through the mix.

I like making beats. The kind of beats I aspire to make are generally funky, dirty, spacey, and largely hip-hop or electronica related. You will also be hearing more flamenco from me, both electronic and classical, as I continue to get a better gras... [see more]
