Description
From Lisa: We want to thank Neil for giving us the push to redo this song and for giving some great energy back to Macjams, generally, with the MJRF. This is a song we did in 2006, our first year here, for the first LIOLI. We whipped it out in about a week, which was a crazy record for us at the time and there were a lot of things we wanted to change about the version we posted.

For me, I was very unhappy with the vocal. It seemed I was always sick at the time and I couldn't find a key that worked well for me and my voice was VERY unhealthy when I sang this in 2006. It turns out that I was being poisoned by low levels of carbon monoxide from my furnace (many of you know this story) which was making me sick and ruining my singing voice. The original recording of this song documents the worst my voice got and I'm happy that I sound a lot healthier on this new version. It's amazing how time heals all things.

We hope you guys enjoy this. We're happy to be here on the 2006 stage. Woooh!

Lyrics
World that Breathed

Running up the steep hill,
the dogs are chasing me.
The trees conspire with the game,
wind blows through the leaves,
they rustle your name.
There's no escape.

No matter what I do
my love lingers on and on
nowhere I can run.
My heart is chasing you.

Woke up alone in our empty bed,
only problem is, it's all in my head.
We never had a real place or a time,
nothing that was really ours,
just a world that breathed in my mind.

No matter what I do
my love lingers on and on
nowhere I can run.
My heart is chasing you.

Run away, run away.

No matter what I do
my love lingers on and on
nowhere I can run.
My heart is chasing you.

Run away, run away, run away.

World That Breathed
I get firsties?? COOL! Thanks for the backstory on this - I'm new enough to not have known your furnace story, but that same thing just happened in my house, so I can relate (luckily, i'm not a singer) (a human though....). Your vocals here are sensational, and this soundbed is luscious beyond words. It's perfectly impossible to hold still and listen to this song. So glad this is the one you chose, and so GREAT to see The Orbiting around here a bit more! Hope this is just the start of new uploads from you two. (Nice Macbook Pro Matt....lol)

Woooh! Female Firsties!
I'm so glad disaster was averted with your furnace, too. Gas heat is a scary little thing. We're both really lucky not to have had it turn out really, really badly. I tell everyone I know now how important a carbon monoxide detector is.

Thanks for your continued support, Karen. I just love you. Matt and I plan to plow through a whole pile of stuff this year, so I hope we make you happy with our uploads. :-)

bad bad furnace
so happy you gave this another go. Your voice sounds wonderful. Very strong and gives the tune some urgency. Matt makes the best sound beds. Always a delight in the new musical surprises surrounding every measure. Super club mix. Love this.

ktb
When did your name change officially to ktb? Is it a new account or did I miss a kerfluffle of some kind? (Please don't tell me it has been that way for two years and I'm just old).

Matt did an awesome job on the sound bed, I agree. He also injected a ton of energy into the track with the rhythmic elements in this last version. He is the master and I worship his ability. I'm freakin' lucky.

Thanks, John, for the kind words. You are always so supportive and I'm so grateful!

Hey, it has
a underlying meaning; World that Breathed, considering your experience. So glad you survived that and came back strong and whole. Super work. Thank you, both.

Really, really well done
This is a cool, hip, interesting, dynamic track. It sounds great - crisp, well-balanced, very compelling. I really like the arrangement. Matt is a master, quite gifted.

Lisa's vocals are so unique, and so wonderful... we just get drawn in all that much deeper to the song. What a spectacular combination you two make.

Lisa, I'm so glad you found the problem that caused you ill health. Your voice sounds fantastic, and your spirit sounds strong.

Congratulations, you two. This is going on my iPod, and thank you for that.

wow
I definitely can't keep up with all the great MJRF stuff that's been posted so it's no surprise I missed this before it moved along to the second page. The vocals do sound awesome and the whole sonic stew is cookin'... great work!
There's that sort of faux sitar phasing in the right speaker that is pretty interesting, it's worked its way into my brain.
Cool!

Since the Orbiting...
...have come into this dimensional continuum to repeatedly and unexpectedly make my day, and that is their JOB, it's just really good when they out of the blue get down and DO it...

I'm really enjoying the bass line on this... Matt's ability to have all these little melodic, harmonic and rhythmic things going on in a spacious way without getting in each other's way is impressive... And Lisa has taken this voice of hers that debuted in a sort of folk song context and made it into a superb instrument for working against a synth and in a pop context...

Great lyrics and melody... I sometimes think there's just one big Lisa lyric and all these individual songs are just snippets from the BPO (Big Purdy Opera)... But maybe that's a silly idea and I just need another cup of tea...

I'm happy, though. There's a new Orbiting song.

Ed

Great
This sounds great. A wonderful song, and the sound is magnificent! Love the vocal on this. Your voice is expressive and rich, and you deliver the words with great feeling. The instrumentation is outstanding - a wash of sound that pulls you along with it as the song moves forward. Lovely stuff. Kudos to you both, and thanks for sharing this. Nice. Peace.

this
has a real ethnic flavor to it I'm enjoying. great intense beat and a spirited vocal. nicely done. what is that I hear come in at 1:05. Almost sounds like a guitar? whatever it is, it's very cool. Kinda wish it would have really EXPLODED at 2:34 to the end, but I like what you've both done here regardless
