Sweet!
I've been waiting for something new from you an age, and I'm glad to say it was worth the wait. Lovely stuff. Beautiful sound, those strings resonate and sing, crystal clear and ringing. And your playing is, as always, superb. You have a deft touch, and your sense of rhythm is spot on. Melodic and classic, with some terrific touches. This has a melancholic but sweet lilt to it. Does kind of cut off rather sharply at the end, but that's really just a nit. And of course, the length leaves you wanting more! Hope we don't have to wait too long for another section. Excellent. Nicely done, my friend. Peace.

Thanks for listening David
The cut off is abrupt but I just run out of notes at that point! I couldn't figure out how to go back and at least repeat the whole thing through again. I'm hoping something will come along that can be added to it. Thank you very much for the kind comments.
All the best to you
Steve

Hi Karen
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I really wish I could have kept going - I'm still trying to reach the magic 2 minute mark but so far this is all there is!
The comments people have left have made me think I should spin it out longer so hopefully there will be an longer version soon.
best wishes

Your comments mean a lot given your own finger picking skills (I love your Alman/Ballad/Jig post and not just because it lasts about 5 times longer than this!).
Thanks

Enjoy the
home feeling of this, nice placements of the chords. Also the the renaissance feel is striking!

Way to go!
Thanks for sharing. Glad I ran into this, good mic placing as well!

Thanks Bill
I know what you mean about the home feeling. I think if I can add to it i'll try harder to quieten down some of the unwanted noise from some clumsy fretting that went on here. I don't usually get a renaissance feel as I don't often get a bass line that moves but it does a bit on this.

for taking the time to listen and comment. Thinking of an harpsichord piece might give me some inspiration for another section. I'll give that a go

I've always been a sucker for major 7th chords and I think quite a few of the bars in this include the major 7th as an added or passing note. Your visit and comment is much appreciated!

Hi Thoddi
Thanks for the comment. I like the melody in this too. It would be nice if someone could take on Feter's suggestion and add a flute to this to make the melody stand out more and add a variation to it.
Best wishes

Oh man
That guitar sounds real slick man. I mean this is exactly the kind of music I would pay to listen to, and I'd probably put you in my Dale Miller/Leo Kottke/Steve Howe playlist. Fricking amazing stuff.

I'm so glad you left me a comment...
...and got me curious...

This is excellent just as is, and if you come up with another section, so much the better... Somewhere between Carolan and Simon Nicol's 'End of a Holiday'... Nice crisp recording, too... I'm hearing the brass spang from the strings...

Lovely
Beautiful tone and composition. It does end too abruptly though ! Before you find more to it - and do I know about that one - you could find an elegant, if temporary, ending.

In any case, delightful. Thanks for sharing.
