Description

Hey All ") This is a concept song that Ive been toying with for awhile ...its obvious the influence :) In hiphop you call the verses of the Emcee 4 , 8 or 16 bars and this is a play on that concept . Im trying to keep my mixes out of the ear splitting ranges now with a more subtle mix and a little compression . I just rearranged my Room/studio :) so I wanted to give the new dynamics and sound changes a chance so I banged this piece out today . Its just a fun little piece hope ya'll enjoy ")

Yeah I keep thinking of someone who posted about how the jazz cats (I think it was Tobin ?) Always have a lower volume . You may have to turn your volume up a little but you get the full sound without the headache :) Thanx for smackin me with Love ! Wow You have so many grand sounds in here...!(!) This is new to me - with these instruments combined in this genre - this could make ppl who don't listen to this genre to actually listen !!! Thats Awesome ! I make my own music for everyone and keep it clean and fun . Ive always appreciated emcees that could rap without cussing every other word ..One of my favorite albums is- Young Mc -Stone cold Rhymin....great album one cuss word on his say no to drugs song ...the only song on the album I dont like ...not cause of the cuss word but because Im not into preaching to others :) Anyway Im so glad thatI can bridge a gap to hiphop for you and hope that youll come experience street music more often ! ben this is sweet. like karen i am pretty ignorant about your home genre but i know what my ears tell me and they are impressed. first off the mix is outstanding. the rap element with the mando and jazz groove on the bass is brilliant. gotta love your vocal performance ... a given. you've always got great sample ideas - you have your own creative sensibility and you stay out off the beaten path - cool stuff. style on this one reminds me of Murs - your voice is harder on this than the last couple. i dig the lyrics too - you've been into the peace and love thing and this is a cool departure - old school brag...thanks for another download dude.

Wuz up man :) hahaha yeah I should post some of my self-destructive rants I get on when trying to get the lyrics just right Id make a veteran sailor blush :) Thanx for the production notes its good to hear these as I am trying to better my mixes and get bass and hi's equaled out . Hiphop is tricky in its own unique way ...not alot of complication in the music but there in lies the trick.... simple track with few elements is harder sometimes :) My vocal sound is buggin the crap out of me right now . I cant seem to get the blend just right ...but such is life of the home recording artist I suppose :) Id love to know how people get that crisp clean full centered vocal ! It drives me crazy I tell you .....Thanx Jamma

Okay, I remember
the Ernie Ford song. "16 tons and what do you get; another day older and deeper in debt." That was almost like a rap song but with a depression era spin to it. You have a natural talent for spoken rhyme and obviously, some strong music sensibility. This one has a good hook and the listening was a pleasure. Thanks.

Im really just experimenting and keeping myself sharp with mixing , understanding and developing hiphop so if some one loves My music it makes me super happy if someone doesnt like it im indifferent except for how the song sounds ....saying you feel my music past the obvious hiphop into the real emotion that goes into it makes my very pleased . Confidant ....this is the most important thing that im workin on now in the betterment of DJFT ....my confidence . I hate the sound of my voice and until recently was only an observer of the english language ...Im now deeply in love with language and tones of words and not necessarily the actual word and Im starting to at least like the sound of my voice now ....and thats important in a 50% vocal musical genre :) ...Thanx so much for the kind comments Vic :)

You "banged" out this piece in a day? Dang, bro. That's a pretty tight mix for a day! Truly awesome. I guess there's a good reason to try and limit your compression at the start. It's a whole lot easier to add to what you've got than it is to start taking stuff out - I speak from personal experience, as I put compression on just about everything from the get-go. less is deff more sometimes and Ive found mixing your song till you stratified then leaving and comming back an hour latter and asking myself do I like it now is the best way to get a solid mix .....the old saying garbage in garbage out in mixing is true start with a good recording your proud of from the beginning and the mix will fall in place ....Glad to have you in the community Bill.....PEace

I'm really making a discovery here...
... as mentioned previously, I'm not a hip-hop fan. I'm so not into hip-hop I wasn't even sure if this was hip-hop! Your stuff however, the musicality in the backing tracks and the wonderful vocal performances are causing me to rethink my view. The little melody line of tinkling over the drums is excellent here and you really know how to deliver your words.
I'm even hearing where I would crash in with a punk mash up in your stuff.
Thanks for opening my eyes man. Top stuff. My iPod just learnt a new flavour.
