Description
This is one of Bud's tracks. "Tranquility Base". I just happened to be in the right mood for this kind of music when I clicked on his song. Bud put it up for grabs so I downloaded it and tried to get all 'trippy' with it and my guitar.

I just dragged the original file into Garageband and started noodling and tried not to ruin the song.

The guitar is plugged straight in to my firewire input device and then the computer. I turned on all the effects I thought would go well with it and went for it. I was excited and thought that If I took too many takes, I would ruin it, so I listened thru once while playing along and then the second time I pushed record.

*EDIT* Thought it would be interesting to note which GB effects I used, they are: American Clean Amp, Light Chorus, Manually Adjusted Phaser, Circle Track Echo, Basic Echo, Reverb...
Sorry, Bud to post this so soon after you uploaded this but I was in the mood to record tonite....

wow EF - that was FAST! And you did good here! I love the guitar noodling (why do they call it that??), and it's quite cool how you managed to match the feel of Bud's work. I really like this - glad you went for it!

The glorius computer age...
It allows us to do this, and with quick turnarounds too. Thanks for listening. Yes, I noticed there were actually a few chords in the ambience that were able to me matched....

Yes I've been into this sound this week. Bud's post was just what I needed to inspire some creative juices. That's the beauty of collaboration, you never know what will be added next!

So gosh-darned
spacey but still rooted in a terrestrial experience such as standing on the edge of the grand canyon or sitting on a rock beneath a waterfall in a green wood. I'm glad you were inspired to play. Thank you.

Don't be sorry about the quick turnaround
I'm thrilled. This is great - and I'm flattered that TB spurred you to action. I really like the tone and approach you take to the guitar on this - adds a lot of dimension. Also like that you rode the spirit of one take improv. Brave man in the heart of space. I especially dig the singing tones around the 5:50 mark followed by the little chitters. I used to play a guitar outfitted with alligator clips to get that chittery sound. Very cool. Thanks.

thanks bud,
last nite I had to listen to your song and this take on 20 dollar headphones. It sounded good, but this morning I got to listen with my speakers. Wow, the deep bass on your track adds so much more to the room!
