Lyrics
Goin' Away

we can't ever stay
goin' away
goin' away

why would i wanna say boo
goin' to the limits with a fren like you?
how can a lover stay true?
in a world full of sex and the hullabaloo?

tell me a reason for why
we shouldn't give it up and always stay high?
i never thought it all through
livin' in box with a you know who

we can't ever stay
goin' away
goin' away

Hey Smokey,
this sounds like something from the 70's. I guess it's the guitar and drums that make me say that. Time is inexorable.
But, memory is eternal. Thanks.

Great!
It has a discreet psychedelic effect. Reminds me of a lot, and nothing. Maybe of a perfect-last-song in a live gig. Louder & louder & endlessly. Best Regards

Cool beginning
love that back up vocal at the beginning (or synth).

Very weird (in a good way) sound on this production. Sounds better in headphones, yes. But, still sound cool on speakers. Kind of a surfer tune. (I know that may sound strange). It's probably the "ohs and ahs and the reverby guitar lead.

Like this one a lot my friend.

Great song Bill
and it just keeps getting better. You really captured a great feel here. Love the backing vox - the strings and the heavy reverb on the drums. Good lead vox and lyrics too. Excellent.

goin my way
its rare that an artist can keep surprising me with each new track they write. You do so, always with a wonderful new shade. Almost Moody Blue-ish in places (one of my fav's) Nice one Bill

excellent
love that beginning. this is very cool, not sure why, but reminds me of the Moody Blues covering a garage rock number. Very nice Bill, you know I love it when you sing.

Like this a lot
So far this is the best song I've heard from you, which is just an opinion and doesn't mean crap, 'cept that somebody likes it. And I DO!!! Like it has been mentioned, it has a 70's sound to it, but also reminds me of "long gone days" by Mad Season, which I think is the coolest song on that album. That whole album actually has a 70's vibe to it also. This has the same haunting but earthy feeling, same harmony style, same style of lyrics even. I heard that song about two weeks ago and it always sticks in my brain for awhile after I hear it, more than the others. So it's jumping out at me again. I'm sure you had no such intention. There are chords and vibrations in life, which pull us to take our part in the great melody, and I just think we fall into our places sometimes when we are open to it. Man what a great job. Nice work.

Bill - this
is wonderful. What an unusual song and sound. Best beginning to a song I think I've ever heard. This is so infectious - how you master so many styles and genres is nothing short of genius. And it just gets better and better as it goes.
Definite download. Thanks.
Cheers
Len

Straight up
Nice production on this one in how you handled the mix and let all the elements you were weaving in still have their own space, even when things get busy - that's never been easy for me. You almost had me thinking this was a Moody Blues number when the backing vocals came in. Really enjoyed it!
Cheers,
Doug

Eclectic, at best. I learned some music theory at school, and read a ton about it since. I've listened to lots of music over the years. I once played guitar in an actual garage band and actually got paid to play! Once. Although live performance is an... [see more]
