Dance under the Glass Moon w/ GeorgePTingley

Description
When I heard George's Open Collab, Pocketful of Glass - I immediately hit download and went running for my cello
(http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=106793)

I know there have been other versions of this (a very fine one from Mark Hayes) - but I heard this as a nocturnal dance of sorts. The short harmonic Round (like a Chaconne or Passacaglia) just invites variation and echo from the two celli, who are like dancing silhouettes under the glass moon.

My thanks to George for putting this up as a collab. I think highly of your music and sincerely hope you enjoy my version of your piece.

Speechless. Will have to come back and leave a coherent comment later. Just blown away by the beauty of this.

Nope ...
... still can't come up with anything intelligent to say. Just that the cello played with such sensitive warmth stirs something in the depths of my soul. Sorry if that's a sugary fan-girl thing to say, but this is one to experience rather than put into words.

And I speak as someone who doesn't generally enjoy classical music. It's in a league of its own.

I love the delicate turns in the cello melody, and the occasional echoey notes on the guitar are a master touch too. I love these sparse, open arrangements where the instruments have room to soar and resonate.

We share many sensibilities...
So I take your speechlessness with a grateful heart - knowing that unspoken words are often the most articulate!

Oh, it is beyond lovely.
You never fail to impress, Daniel. I'm sure it was wonderful before but the cello is so sensual and this is so touching. I am closing my eyes and imagining being held in an embrace that will last until eternity. And, I am crying. Thank you, both.

Not at all surprising to hear such expressive playing from you Daniel. You're in total flow with this work continuously finding space within to play with. Your accompaniment is organic and totally one with this work.
Best,
Charlie

Cheap shot -
Fantastic cello playing from a gifted improviser over a beautifully played classical guitar track. Two wonderfully talented musicians working at the top of their game - just for the beauty and joy of sharing their work with appreciative friends and fellow musicians. There ought to be law.

Many thanks and humble bows to you both.

breathtaking
Wonderful flowing movement. The weaving of the two celli is just exquisitely done. daniel you just continuously astound me with the diversity of your musical ideas. There is such incredible restraint in this piece - and yet it is so simply, perfectly structured and performed that it just overflows with emotion. Exactly how a dance is - the extreme control and harnassed energy of each muscle in the dancer's body, used to create gorgeous motion and imagery. Just beautiful. Well done.

Beautiful collaboration...
Everything about this lovely interweaving of instruments is right--complementary and complete.
It reminds me vaguely of William Ackerman--which is a very good thing, in my book.

This lovely dance...
...for two celli and guitar is just beautiful. There simply is not better music in this style. Such talent. The conversation about 3/4 of the way in is wonderful. I think I'd prefer a real ending and no fade. Just me...
Peace.

I came back .
I remembered how much I loved this one. Your new one with Rebsie is my all time favorite. I have it on a CD called Tidal Wheel.
This shares second place with Gustav Holtz's Jupiter from the Planets. I am happy today and I am never happy. This is your effect with your talent and your sharing of that talent. Thank you once again.
