Slow Sad Cello Song w/ Storkaas

Description
One of my favourite composers of late is Rune Storkaas, so I was very excited when he approached me about some cello for this lovely piece. This was originally done with synthesized cello, which I have replaced here with two simple cello lines. I do hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed playing it.

Daniel (Luna Trick): Cello
Rune Storkaas: Original music composition

Oh...
...this is very cool. I hadn't thought about a quiet, sort of parlor jazz. What a graceful little piece that's played with such restraint by both of you. I know people play this kind of thing for background music, but I find it so soothing that I want to hear it over and over again and really pay attention. What a great duet you've created here. Delightful...ah...some of those very mellow chords just pop out and melt the atmosphere. (Is there some "noise" going on to give a live feel to this? ... sounds a little like static. Maybe it's just on my end.) ... Loved this tune.
Peace.
Paul

I hadn't either...
But Rune approached me about this and I thought... yeah, that will work. The static is the train station motif methinks. Glad you enjoyed...

intriguing, nice!
Intriguing because the music is an interesting blend, bordering on smooth jazz, but leaning toward romantic torch song, but really more like something I'd hear in a movie score, but not quite. No matter how unclassifiable, it is definitely classy, and I like it. I also like the instrument choices. I must admit that I do not "get" the "subway train" like noise that comes in at the beginning and end, that seemed to detract. But your cello work on here is excellent, flowing hand-in-hand with the rest of the music. Not sad, per se, but more wistful.

Drakonis

Torch song..
Yes.. I suppose it is. It really isn't Jazz... and I felt it's "classiness" when I first listened too. You don't like the train station ambience... is it too much! Know what you're saying - but "Slow Wistful Cello Song" - I dunno!

I get lights reflected on a dark urban rainy street
Tenderly done with great sense of feeling for what this music can evoke. Gorgeous. A download without question.

I have some static/noise.
I thought it was cool and I liked the sounds, as well. Very European sounding. I'm picturing some train station in France, for example. Thanks.

wow daniel
and wow rune. what a beautiful smooth jazzy tune and the cello is just perfect. both the plucked(?) and legato tracks are just exactly right for the piece. lovely piano work and the synth stuff underneath is great. what an incredibly relaxing piece of music to end my weekend with. thank you.
