Thank you Feter!
Thanks for listening and your comments Feter! Yeah, I haven't heard too many accordions on this site! I must confess though that it's not really me playing it. The accordion is a sampled instrument that comes with the Reason factory sound bank. The bass guitar is also sampled and comes from Reason's Electric Bass refill. I've been really impressed with Reason so far. Until you mentioned it, I've never heard of Zydeco before but it sounds cool because it uses accordions and washboards!

Thanks again Feter for stopping by!

Thanks!
Thanks for taking a listen and commenting! I'm not much of a singer so I'm focusing more on writing songs that are not intended for vocals. I'm finally starting to realize my strengths and weaknesses!

Yes, the bass is a midi bass. The Propellerhead's did a very good job sampling the electric basses for their refill. For $100 I think it is a steal!

Cool
This is a great vibe - lovely bassline, and the droning accordion adds a great contrast. Nice percussion, and a cool, exotic atmosphere. Very nicely done. Peace.

Gotta love
"an accordion jam with a nice bass line" :)

Lots of room for someone to jump in with vox. A really interesting basis for something - maybe a film score or something. That seems to be the direction MR might be heading? Needs more to call it a song I guess, but that Reason accordion sounds very good.

Thanks Neil
Thanks for stopping by and commenting Neil. You are correct that my newer stuff will be heading in a more instrumental, made for TV, soundtrack, short film, video game, etc. mentality.

So you're not impressed with the Reason bass?! I know, it doesn't compare to the real thing but still pretty good!

Thanks!
Thanks for listening and commenting! I'm not big on instrumentals either but I'm not a very good singer so I just make instrumentals now! I'm glad you thought this was different. I'm trying to walk the line between being quirky and still somewhat commercially viable!

Cool!
Fantastic! I'm glad you thought it was different Len! I'll be working on it some more trying to add more dynamics to the accordion and maybe tweaking the drums slightly. Thanks for listening and commenting!

You Betcha
Go ahead and knock yourself out. If you get some vocals you like I can put them in the song and EQ the accordion a bit so your vocals sit better in the mix! The tempo for this song is 80 BPM. Send me a note if you need anymore info or would like a wav or aiff file to work with.

P.S. - Thanks for checking out my back catalog!

I got lost, but finally made it here!
Hey Adam!

Starts out with a really lively bass line! This is something I've been slowly working toward, myself. Nice build at the beginning. Very hypnotic. This is great interlude music! This would be good transition music. This would even be a good intro. I see it working well before a really high energy piece or super low energy. You could try a bass solo/improv in the middle that would vary the theme, but not necessary. Because it stands well on its own. I dig the drones.

Nice!

Thanks for stopping by and listening Doug! It does get a little redundant so that's something I'm trying to work on with my productions. Thanks again!
